Inconsistent [Posted on 2008-03-30] I got this mouse as a gift. I was thrilled because i thought that it would make things easier, but it only works when it wants to. i have changed the battery every month since i got it because it has a toggle on off switch that is controlled by removing/replacing the usb. unfortunately it doesn't always work, and sometimes the mouse is on when it is supposed to be off. also, it took over my touchpad and since i started using it, the dedicated scroll section of my mouse pad on my laptop doesn't work. I'm beyond irritated. and i love how they say that it works on virtually any surface, that is NOT true. it has sporadic movement unless its on a smooth dark surface. this is a poorly designed mouse, with inconsistent performance. avoid at all costs
Accurate tracking, terrible scrolling [Posted on 2008-04-22] After receiving this mouse, I plugged it directly into my computer and everything worked perfectly. The tracking was incomparably good to my previous Microsoft wireless optical mouse. The scrolling (vertical and horizontal) was good until about a month later when it felt as if something fell out or became dislodged. When this happened, vertical scrolling was practically impossible as sometimes when you scroll up it would go down and vice versa. Editing large images in Photoshop as well as switching weapons in FPSs is a pain.
Excelent Product [Posted on 2008-06-14] I was looking for a mouse to use in conjunction with my laptop. I found the laptop push and scroll device on the laptop to be difficult to use and unresponsive.
I went to a computer store to look at the different styles of mice to see which one felt the most comfortable in my hand. I found several that I liked, but the Kensington stood out amongst them all.
I really like this model because of the rubber griping on the sides and its smooth performance. Another advantage is that is laser guided which is an upgrade from the optical mice.
The Kensington that I looked at was not available for sale as a standalone product so I ordered it on-line through Amazon.
I am still learning how to use all of its many features, but so far, I have no complaints. I really like this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone who is considering purchasing a high performance mouse such as the Kensington.
Kensington 72242 PilotMouse Wireless Laser Mouse [Posted on 2008-06-30] Solid construction body, Accurate, Convience. Heavy than Logiteck 610 Laser that I also own. I gave it 1/2 star behide a Logiteck 610 Mouse. A softside rubber may get dirty or rubbing off when heavy used. A battery door is little hard to open, it may break long finger nail!
Kensington PilotMouse [Posted on 2008-11-09] The PilotMouse works very well. It is very comfortable in my hand and responds quickly and cleanly. But it is a large mouse and needs careful placement on my smaller size mouse tray. At first I had trouble with the setup, then I moved the USB plugin from the rear of my desktop computer to the front. Problem solved
