Customer Reviews:

Bad design and cheap plastic ... [Posted on 2007-04-14]
I read some good reviews for this mouse. However, I was really disappointed with the quality and the design. Firstly, the mouse rocks. I mean when you put it on a flat surface, there is a slight wobble because all edges are not in contact. Next, when you place your hand, the mouse tilts a millimeter to the back as the points of contact are not at the very back of the mouse.

The plastic looks cheap. The mouse feels hard to move on the surface (surface friction). This one goes back for sure. I bought the Logitech VX Revolution and I am much happier.

I like it [Posted on 2007-06-12]
There is only one other review right now for this mouse and it is negative, so I'm adding my positive. I replaced a Kensington optical wireless mouse with this one because I lost the USB receiver. It was my 3rd USB receiver because the first two quit working. I love this new mouse because of what it gives me that the old one did not:

1. A low profile USB receiver. My last one was too thick. On a laptop with stacked USB ports that means you couldn't plug anything into your other USB port at the same time as the mouse. It sucked. This one solves that with a very thin receiver.

2. In-mouse storage of the USB receiver. Sweet. One less thing I have to dig out of my laptop case, because it is stored in the mouse. And now I can't lose it.

3. When you store the USB receiver in the mouse, it turns the mouse off. My last mouse I had to hold down the scroll button and push a 2mm recessed button on the bottom at the same time to turn it off and on. What a pain that was. And many times it didn't work (I'd get my mouse out the next morning only to see that the mouse was still on). Now I just use the spring loaded storage space for the USB receiver.

4. Easy battery replacement. The battery is in the same compartment as the USB receiver storage. My old mouse had a battery lid you had to practically break to get off. Plus it relied on proper fit of the lid to make electrical contact with the battery. I would often find that I would lose power because the lid would slightly move and the battery would lose contact. This new mouse has a contact that is independent from the storage lid.

5. Battery life. It only takes one AA compared to two AAA. It has already outlived my two AAA (about a week I used to get).

6. Range. It works from at least 10 ft. away. Any further away and I can't see the laptop screen anyway.

7. NO SYNCING REQUIRED. Every f**king time I used the old optical mouse I had to press the button on the USB reciever, it would flash, I'd press that annoying recessed button on the bottom of the mouse, and the mouse would sync to the receiver. Sometimes. But pressing the button on the bottom required holding the mouse on the opposite side by the battery cover which would sometimes cause that whole loss of electrical contact problem. This new mouse requires no syncing. Plug the receiver in and it works. Sweet.

IMO, Kensington properly identified every weakness of the product they were replacing, and successfully addressed all the problems. Awesome. I'm buying one for my wife's laptop. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the minute rocking thing that the other reviewer mentioned. I noticed it, too. It doesn't bother me, but it could bother others I suppose. I'm often using my mouse on the sofa (soft surface), so it doesn't rock. Only on hard surfaces.

The best notebook mouse I've found [Posted on 2008-02-28]
I don't know what was wrong with Hal's mouse, but I couldn't disagree more about the SI750m.
After going through 3 other mice that died long before their time and were a pain in many other ways (see Sexless in Seattle's excellent review), I got this one at Amazon, mostly because it was fairly inexpensive. I've had it a year now and I LOVE it. I'm here looking for another SI750 for another laptop I bought for my wife. I passed over Logitech and Microsoft mice, though cheaper, because those are the ones that died on me before and were such pains. I'd rather pay a little more for this one, knowing it performs faultlessly and won't suddenly crap out.

You won't go wrong with this mouse.

I own two [Posted on 2008-03-23]
I love the small size and use it as my desktop mouse. I am about to buy a third for my other notebook. The size is great for travel and the usb storage is great. Battery lasts a long time also.
