What can be better than a 2 KB memory card? [Posted on 2008-10-05] This is the memory card you want for your camera if you are planning a long trip or vacation. It holds over 1200 pictures (at least on my old camera). Oddly enough, I didn't use it on the trip I bought it for, but now use it as I have pictures on my smaller 528 MB card that I don't want to delete yet. Plus, it's always good to have a second card, just in case.
Kingston 8GB SDHC Class 6 flash card [Posted on 2008-10-05] Product works great in my Pentax Optio W30 (which as far as I can tell does not specify SDHC compatibility to get beyond the 4GB limit of regular SD). Now I have more than enough room on vacations without having to swap cards. Fast save, fast viewing. I am pleased. Kingston costs a bit more but their products tend to be higher quality and grief free.
P.S. YMMV on whether SDHC will work in your pre-SDHC device.
Oustanding. [Posted on 2008-10-08] It's cheap, and gets the job done. Enough said. Better deal than one found in any store.
Micro SD card [Posted on 2008-10-09] Product as advertised, and works well. fits well in the micro SD ports in the devices I have and the SD card fits well in the SD card readers I have used it in
A Real Bargain [Posted on 2008-10-10] Until recently, I bought nothing but SanDisk and Lexar SD cards for my digital cameras. To be honest, they always worked perfectly and I have no complaints about the products themselves.
A few months ago I was on the website of a well-known photo shop located in New York City and came across these Class 6 Kingston cards selling for about half the price of the SanDisk and Lexar products.
Being in the market from some 4gb cards, I figured that I had nothing to lose (the store has a no-questions-asked return policy) so I ordered two.
One went into my Nikon D80 and the other into my Canon G9. All that I can say is that they work just as well as the higher priced brands. I see no difference in performance and they have proven to be 100% reliable.
Frankly, I don't find that one brand of Class 6 cards is any faster than another in my cameras. Perhaps someone with sophisticated testing equipment can prove that one brand is a milisecond faster than another but, for all practical purposes, it really doesn't matter.
