Apple sell their computers using the only two available slots because using 2x1GB will give you better performance than just using 1x2GB. Thats why!

In my case, my macbook came with 512mbx2 and I did the upgrade myself to 2x1GB a few months ago. The good thing is that in case this memory fails I'll always have the original ones till the warranty for the new ones will give me a replacement.

mine are PNY (not specifically desingned for Apple) but they work perfect!

I installed the ram myself and saved myself about a hundred dollars rather than having apple install it for me. It was simple quick and easy and haven't had any troubles. A good buy :)

The memory set works on my laptop for six months; works fine as it should be. Lifetime warranty from the manufacture is the main reason I chose it. Although the price is a little bit higher than the standard Dram, perfect and reliable working condition is the case I am searching for. In short, it is a good choice if you have enough budget.

I don't know if you are like me, but when I install something on a computer especially right after I received my mac book pro without even turning it on once...I gritted my teeth and crossed my fingers it would work out. Lo and behold it worked very well and immediately. I can assure you that if I can install it, certainly most can as well. A good purchase especially since running multiple programs now really demand the memory. It has performed very well since day one. What I'm saying is that you don't need a geek squad or others who charge a fortune for 10minutes max of your time. Make sure you hear a little click once you put the card in.

I chose this memory because the package said it was for apple, I wanted to make sure it was compatible.
