A Great Simple Flash Drive [Posted on 2008-04-06] I purchased 2 of these flash drives to free up space on my PC and store all of the digital photos of my daughter. I zipped all of the files (over 20,000 photos) and was able to fit them on just 1 of the flash drives. I have no complaints at all. It's a great flash drive at an unbeatable price.
Good Product [Posted on 2008-04-20] I bought this Kingston DataTraveler 100 - USB flash drive - 4 GB - Hi-Speed USB - black This flash drive works very well and download fast there is no problem using this flash drive you can stored a lot of data on the flash drive plus you get fast delivery and good service.
speed, good performance [Posted on 2008-05-24] I bought this product some days ago, and I made some tests on it, and it works fast, I copied a 1.1gb file in 1'51" (one minute and fifty one seconds)..
You can see a test pic I took..
The black color is excellent, very elegant..
Died young [Posted on 2008-05-31] This flash drive stopped working for me during the second week of use, with cause unknown: it was doing just fine on my home computer one minute; fifteen later I try it on another machine and get no response (and still none ever since). My experience probably isn't representative--just one bad apple--but needless to say it's really disappointing. I'm currently looking into Kingston's replacement policy.
Just a good USB flash drive [Posted on 2008-06-14] Wanted to really like the drive. It didn't completely disappoint me but I can only give a five to the best or really close and this isn't in my opinion.
I bought two because I found a good deal and it holds more than any that I currently used. I'm in IT. I didn't even lose any of the other drives I own but I prefer USB drives to having CD's of software to install.
It performs well, meaning fast. It is a little difficult to get open in order to insert into PC. Not really difficult but you have to be gentle and not force. Same removing from PC, have to be extra gentle. I have several other flash drives, including a U3 flash drive. This isn't a U3 and I miss having my applications at will. It worked fine when used on a Vista machine to boost performance, but I won't be doing that anymore. To me, a USB drive is meant to be portable and that ruins portability.
I don't know that for other purposes you would be able to tell it is faster than many thumb drives. Not THE fastest, but a good performer, inexpensive and holds lots of space for the buck. It doesn't come with a lanyard or easy way to attach to a keychain or anything for that matter. My last three USB drives did so I have to ding it for that.
In Summary, it is what it is supposed to be. A USB drive doesn't have to have any bells and whistles to be useful and this drive proves it. I feel on the other hand I will be looking for drives with more add-ons next time. As long as the cost doesn't skyrocket then it will be worth it to me.
