didn't last [Posted on 2008-07-13] I bought these batteries when I bought my new camera. After the first charge they worked about two weeks (which is great after using regular AA batteries). Once they ran down though I have not been able to get them to re-charge. So I only got about two weeks use out of them. I don't know if it is the batteries or the charger. I am very dissapointed!!
Battery too tight [Posted on 2008-07-22] Can't believe this. I ordered 2 of the Kodak DLK-8000 Equivalent Li-on Batteries for my Kodak Z812IS. So far the battery is working great and lasting a good amount of time BUT the battery is so tight in the camera I cannot remove it without using a pair of pliers!!
At first I thought I had it in wrong but it was the correct insert just super, super tight. I asked my son to look at it and even he could not remove it. Don't know how this will fare if I have to carry pliers around with the camera as you never know when a battery will die on you.
Really makes it a problem...thus the lower rating for the product.
Perfect Substitute [Posted on 2008-08-15] I just bought another DLK 8000 battery (Replacement for Kodak KLIC 8000) because I was so happy with the first one. This fits in my Kodak digital camera model 1012IS. This camera model is not listed with the other advertised models that take this battery, but rest assured if you own the 1012IS, this is the battery you need. Maybe the 1012IS is too new of a model to be listed??? But anyway, I bought the battery with the Power 2000 RTC-148 charger. Both were a fourth the cost of the Kodak brand, and both work great. This battery fits perfectly in both the charger and the camera. It is NOT too tight as some people stated for another camera model.
Love this battery! [Posted on 2008-08-20] I love this battery so much I bought 2. I was using rechargeable AA batteries and could only take 10 pictures if I was lucky and then would have to change the batteries. I've taken a ton of pictures before having to recharge this battery.
Don't get confused [Posted on 2008-09-23] Don't confuse this battery (DLK-8000 Equivalent) with the DLK-8000 made by Lenmar (which is KLIC-8000 Equivalent). It seems that all the positive reviews in this thread came from folks who bought the actual DLK-8000 battery, which is slightly more expensive than the DLK-8000 equivalent (listed product). So before you buy, make sure you differentiate between the two... That might have something to do with why some pple have problems with the battery being too tight etc...
