Works Great With NERO [Posted on 2008-05-08]
While I wasn't able to play HD and Blu-Ray prerecorded DVDs using the Power DVD software that can with the drive, it worked just fine once I installed the optional HD and Blu-Ray software for NERO. Since I already use NERO for everything else, I am happy with my purchase. As usual, it was delivered on time and packed for air-drop into a combat zone!

Crashing my computer [Posted on 2008-06-12]
Since installing this guy, my computer has been randomly freezing and failing in different ways. I dunno if it's the drive or the software's fault, but it's annoying enough to ruin an otherwise quality drive.

Shipped Wrong Item. [Posted on 2008-06-13]
I ordered this item, due to the price drop, and the high reviews. When i got the item, the seal on the box was open. The drive had scuff marks, like it had been used previously. The item number and description on the drive itself said it was a Lite-on product. When i ordered it was being sold by Amazon. Hopefully Amazon will make this right with me, as i have always, always had good relations with them.

As to how well the item works and whatnot, I cannot state my opinion. As i have had to send it back for a replacement.

I thought the product was defective at first because it did not recognize my dvd that I burned from another burner while an older dvd drive I had did recognize it. To install an OS (XP), I had to plug in the older dvd drive.

Once I had the OS (XP) installed and all drivers loaded this drive still does not recognize dvds burned by another burner; however, this drive burned dvds fine and recognized its own.

I have had no issues playing HD and Blue Ray movies, except that I could not plug straight into my receiver (Samsung TIB); I kept getting an HDCP error. It would play for about 5 seconds and then pop up that error. So I play straight to the LCD TV instead and listen to stereo from the TV to the receiver.

This dvd caused a lot of stress but I got what I paid for; it is good for the price.

Its great. Software suite is great. Everything shows in the videos. So much you can see how they made the movie. The Computer Brain store was good when I told them they shipped me a used one that had scratches. So they sent a new one and its AWESOME. I recommend buying thru Amazon to this vendor.
