Good Decision [Posted on 2008-06-02] The clarity is good enough that it's easy to ignore the fact that you can't adjust the height up or down. I just raise or lower my chair instead.
Excellent picture quality though disappointed in the blacks [Posted on 2008-07-17] For PC use, this is practically usable out of the box. Using it for an Xbox 360 on the other hand requires a bit of tweaking. However, the picture quality is great. I had a 42" LG LCD 720p tv before and the color was astounding, the blacks were fairly good as well when calibrated accordingly. The 22" monitor has even better picture color...except for blacks. The high contrast ratio washes out the blacks. I had to significantly drop the brightness (below 25) to even get the black to remotely resemble black. That being said, if you jack up the contrast, you can retain the color and deal with the less than stellar blacks. Love the 2ms response time, absolutely no ghosting in any PC or console game I tried. Overall I'd recommend it unless you can find a deal on a similarly sized Samsung Sync Master.
(Side Note: This monitor is 16:10, the Xbox 360 currently doesn't have any resolutions that utilize the 16:10 ratio so your stuck with 16:9 until the fall update which is adding both 1440x900 and 1680x1050)
Simply Stunning! [Posted on 2008-07-17] I was on the fence about buying this monitor, because I'd never owned one before and I was leaning more toward an HP. But then my niece is always bragging about her LG and so it seems is everyone else and then I called Best Buy and the computer guy there told me that LG monitors were the best for graphic designers. So I went there to check them out and instantly fell in love.
The clerk also informed me that the reason LG monitors are so highly rated is because the company mainly makes displays. He was kind enough to hook it up to a computer so I could check out how Windows looked on it and after that I was sold. I took it home and hooked it up to my computer and was totally blown away. The display is simply stunning and the screen real estate alone was worth the price. Plus it easily outclasses every other electronic product in my home. The settings and forteManager (a program on the enclosed CD) are extremely easy and a blast to use.
I was so used to having to scroll right and left or not being able to see everything on a web page with my old monitor that now it is taking me some time to adjust. The colors, contrast, and text are awesome - even right out of the box with no adjustments. Plus this LG display has a 10,000:1 digital fine contrast that has to be seen to be believed.
If you're on the fence like I was then get off and go buy this monitor!
Awesome Screen Quality [Posted on 2008-07-30] This monitor is simply amazing for computing. I take lots of pictures and viewing them on this monitor is awesome. The depth and quality of the images is great. I use both a 19" LG screen and a 22" LG screen. I watch TV on the small screen through my computer and the quality is as good as my TV. The large screen functions perfectly fine at the same time and the images are great!
So Worth The Money [Posted on 2008-09-04] I just purchased this monitor today at Circuit Ci*ty. For $269.99 on sale! Was going to get a 19' but went for the 22'. This is the best purchase I've made this year. Easy to set up! Fantastic color and design. LG is a great brand. So I'm happy and my husband the gamer in the family is very happy with the fast response time.
