Customer Reviews:

A great little package [Posted on 2006-01-30]
I've been using this program since March 1992 and I love it.
My wake in fright moment is that Big Blue will decide they don't love it any more and it will get left behind in the inexorable software creep.
I've already had about 10 battles with various technocrats in different places I've worked to try to take it from me but so far ...
Go on give it a go it's worth every cent.

Still the best! Used for 11 years and counting! [Posted on 2006-10-11]
I have used this program exclusively since 1995.

Threw away my paper address book, calendar, to-do lists...and never looked back! It's comprehensive, totally user-oriented, and fun to use. Link everything to everything else...easily. V6 plays well with the web too--for example, I've entered hundreds of Bookmarks (Org calls them web entries) into Organizer. I've categorized them, and for some I make notes. I can search them all in under 1 second and retrieve exactly what I'm looking for. Stores web page usernames and passwords for you too...and then automagically enters them into your browser when you visit the page.

A couple of times I've been tempted to look at another PIM (such as ACT) to presumably get "more features" - but I quickly come to my senses and realize that I already have all the features I need!

Excellent overall; still some bugs to work out [Posted on 2006-11-04]
Like some of the other reviewers, I have been using this product for a while (five years). And like the others, I would not trade it for anything. I have used other Organizers/Contact Managers, and they don't have the same functionality or ease of use. Things I like: creating phone lists for the day is AUTOMATIC-- type first name and last name and phone number show up-- or type last name. DON'T LIKE that you have to organize your contact's mobile phone separately to call up a different phone number to call. LIKE-- using Intellisync as a conduit, I can sync to my Palm Treo 650. Don't like-- it takes longer (this is largely Palm's problem for not supporting this product in the first place, and not providing sufficient memory. LIKE-- the Day Planner screen is great, versatile, and easy to use. DON'T LIKE-- the printing of Tasks in different formats is very difficult to use. LIKE-- easy to schedule repeating tasks. No downside to this. The address book is easy and clear to read and copy. The Weekly Planner is great and clear. I like the ability to use "penciled in" appointments. I have never gotten any of the billing items to work and I use separate billing software (Billquick) for this.

It goes on... you will get a lot out of this product, but Lotus/IBM has rarely modified and improved the program, and really should do this. But it is probably not a profit center. Just a pretty darn well designed organizer.

I just can't quit her... [Posted on 2007-07-08]
I've been using Organizer since its floppy disk version 1.0 in 1992 (if foggy memory serves). It simply works, and it always has. It does what I want it to do, and has for so long that I find I would not want to quit using it.

I'm using version 5.0, and it runs under Vista with one caveat: setting date information is a bit dicey. Orgnaizer 5.0 under Vista writes out your data file without changing the file's date when viewed in Windows Explorer. But it has in fact written out the current file you have just saved. Also, when setting up a task it appears to not enter the date you select, but it actually does.

I see version 6.1 is said to work with XP ... but no mention of Vista. I'll wait for explicit "works with Vista" mention before upgrading.

ORGANIZER 6.1 : Genial [Posted on 2007-10-15]
