I bought this drive to expand my iMac HDD. And it does not fail me.
It is working as promise and damn fast. I spent less than 1 min to move 1.5GB files from my iMac to this drive connected via FireWire 800.
It is amazing. Lacie delivered as it advertised.

I needed a large capacity portable HD to store my many still photographs and camcorder movies. The LaCie 2TB portable HD certainly meets that need. I has the capacity with 2TB of storage. It is very easy to use with a firewire 400 connection and a one-click backup using LaCie's Silverkeeper program. File transfer between my desktop and powerbook HDs is also very easy. LaCie is a very reliable name in portable HDs. This is my third purchase of a LaCie portable HD. Their customer service is also excellent.
