Cap is Location of Keyring [Posted on 2007-12-13] I wish I had looked a little closer at the picture for the Jumpdrive Secure II Plus before I bought it. I selected this version because I needed the security. However, the keyring hole is in the cap, which is held on by a simple pressure-fit connection. This means that the entire device can easily get lost, and all your data with it.
Key ring - bad design [Posted on 2008-02-01] I agree about the keyring. I made the same mistake. My prior Lexar had the keyring in the base. Bad design Lexar! Lose cap and lose unit. Also no instructions in box about VISTA. You need to run the Secure software as ADMIN (right click and select ADMIN) but I didn't know and used Lexar online chat for help.
Works fine [Posted on 2008-02-09] This jump drive works just fine, but I would make some changes to the design. There is a hole on the lid for a string, but it should be on the body of the drive. It is trim enough to fit next to other USB devices on my laptop.
Great Item for me [Posted on 2008-05-12] I was looking for a secure device that I could store documents and pictures on that I would have available anywhere I might need them. The software is included on the device and has installed on the 5 different PCs that I have tried it on. By default you have access to the drive like any other usb drive but you can also mount your section of the drive to a letter on the PC when you plug it in as long as you use the password. I have not had a problem with the fact that you have to designate how much space you want when you create the partition since if it comes to it I could always pull everything out of it, delete it, and then create a new one even larger if I had to. Over all it has met all my expectitions, especially for $22.
Just what I needed [Posted on 2008-08-26] I've owned a Lexar 512MB Secure drive for quite some time that was filling up. I needed something bigger. This drive has ample space, respectable security, and a shape that suits me. So far its been as reliable as I would expect it to be.
