Do not purchase this printer! Buyer beware! [Posted on 2005-12-16] We have had issue after issue with this all in one. Customer service for Lexmark is terrible. Unless you want to spend hours and hours of your time on the phone with lexmark customer service, find another printer!
Machine and service [Posted on 2006-02-24] I love my new Lexmark X6150! It was only topped by the fast service in receiving it! Have NEVER ordered anything and had it delivered so quickly. I would add more stars if I could!
Thanks.
Bad design/ poor quality [Posted on 2006-04-11] I bought this printer in december. All was fine until it had a paper jam. In the process of the paper jam it knocked off an encoder strip. Now I get a hardward error code 502. Cleared the jam but now I have to put the strip back on. Call Lexmark and they tell me to try to put it back on. Not easy, damn near impossible.Since my printer is under warranty. They said they were going to send me another one. A used one. All I want is mine fixed. Instead they're giving me a used one, refurbished. Mine is damn near new quality. And I'm getting a old. Bad business, I will never get another lexmark. They are too disposable for me. Bad design and quality.
Pure Frustration! [Posted on 2006-04-12] This printer has some serious problems! Paper jambs are common, prints are usually crooked and the color quality is marginal. It also goes through ink cartrages very quickly. The software is cumbersome and the computer often needs to be rebooted to clear the queue if a print session is canceled. The fax function is awkward and I get alot of compliants about illegible faxes. The machine is supposed to be able to differentiate between faxes and phone calls but almost always cuts in on calls unless it is turned off before the call is received. A one star rating is generous. The up side? It dosn't yell back at you!
Use and discard [Posted on 2007-01-27] The functionality (hardware and software) are great - until something goes wrong. The print engine/ink carriage design is very fragile. Sooner or later "Hardware Error 502" messages start to pop up and at that stage - if you are lucky enough to be still be under warranty - send it back. If you try to fix it yourself as the help manual or support suggests, you will buy more time but only postpone the ineviatble. I did, and when it finally died I was outside warranty with a dud printer and $60 worth of useless ink. Lexmark have a good suport setup but seem to outsource it abroad based on the conatct I've experienced, so don't use long words! However good support can't help if the product is brittle.
