Works great...for Windows XP [Posted on 2008-01-17] I bought this card for my Dell Vostro 1700 running Windows Vista Ultimate. The ad read that it was Vista certified. I'm not sure what version of Vista it was certified on but I can not get the card to work. Vista reports that the driver will not start (error code 10). Linksys rep had no clue about this particular product.
The card works great on Windows XP Pro. It appears Vista still has it's problems and XP is still the operating system of choice for this card.
so far so good, but not after some blind luck... [Posted on 2008-05-11] okay, i bought this back on 4/7/08 and initially out of the box...i was very excited being that it is an expresscard and a highend wireless adapter offered by linksys. well, as soon as i installed the device and rebooted. vista gave me the error concerning driver will not start (error code 10). after a couple of days past tinkering around to troubleshoot, chatting with linksys live support, and searching the web for solutions...i gave up and waited on linksys to provide the solution to their device...but low and behold...on no particular night i tried out the card again...and had success! i believe it was due to vista's update of the service pack 1...its not confirmed, but i knew that was the last thing i did:) as far as the device working now...i tried several configurations to get the best and here is what i have to connect at 270 mbps most of the time. i use device wrt600n wireless router (which is awesome!!! but not after tinkering around with it to suit your needs). wireless connection is set to 'n' only, 40 mhz channel at 5.2 ghz as the standard channel, security set to wpa2-personal with aes encryption. my wireless adapter connected consistently after configuring through vista...so far so good.
Best Wireless Investment [Posted on 2008-07-06] This card works better than my original wireless in my laptop. I have actually noticed a visible speed improvement in both using this with my dual band router and other routers at my job. The power drain on the battery is not even noticeable (about 15 minutes off the battery life)
Junk product and expensive [Posted on 2008-07-10] This N wireless adapter connect very weak like junk, do not buy this product and save you money.
works great [Posted on 2008-07-17] Not sure why anyone is whining about this product. It works fine on my laptop. Easy installation and setup. Great speeds.
