It works! [Posted on 2008-04-08] The adapter needs to be connected to a VoIP phone service and high speed internet in order to work. I have the phone service through my home based business and it works fine. What's great about the adapter is that it's portable. I can take it anywhere in the world and plug it into a a high speed internet router or modem, plug my phone into it, and it will ring when someone calls my home number. What's even better is that I don't pay an arm and a leg for the service. This adapter is indeed the wave of the future.
terrible...bad customer service from LINKSYS [Posted on 2008-05-27] Bought this to replace my previous VOIP LINKSYS PAP2 Ver 2. The previous one lasted 8 months before it died. Thought I would buy the same one even though the previous had a relativily short life span, it worked well. This time around I was not so lucky the MAC address was invalid. Called LINKSYS and they were not very helpful in helping me find a solution. . Also waited longer than 15 days so I could not return it.
Linksys doesn't seem to care for its customers. [Posted on 2008-05-29] I would give much higher reviews but it seems the support on this device is lacking from any corner of the earth. You can't upgrade the firmware except through OS less then Vista. It is a bear to configure and their is no configuration software - the company Cisco/Linksys sends you to chat on their site, which says it can't help. They then send you to India which says they can't help you after stumbling through scripts which they can not deviate from. They say go to the store which sold you the product. Hmmm... Amazon is going to help me configure Linksys Product for VOIP? Wow - Amazon must be really good - not. They send you to Voxilla which is the company that actually sold it to you.
Voxilla tells you to use their forums. If thats not helpful then use their help forum. If that is not helpful, and out of a last resort (paraphrasing their message), then leave a message and they will call you back. Its been quite some time now since I left a message. They have a configuration utility that is only a small part useful. So unless you are a technical genius or unless Linksys starts thinking its customers deserve some decent American help and assistance directly to their customers - avoid this company.
Works perfectly. Very pleased [Posted on 2008-06-14] Worked perfectly first time, and every time. Audio quality first class. On-line Instructions were good. Very pleased with this purchase.
Review [Posted on 2008-06-23] A very good product which is doing the job it was advertised to do. Some initial problems with setting up but once this hurdle was over work very well. Highly recommend this product.
