Very good, but not quite perfect. [Posted on 2008-09-17] I got this mouse to replace a supposedly ergonomic "Microsoft Natural" 7000 that came paired with a keyboard. (I love the keyboard -- see [ASIN:B000Q6UZBM Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Desktop 7000]] For some reasons the MS mouse, which you use with your hand in a sort of vertical position rather than horizontal, triggers serious shoulder pain. The Logitech was the most comfortable of a number of mice I tried in a store, so I got one for home and have just ordered another for my office. I find it very comfortable. The mouse is configurable with the Logitech software (which you download -- they don't give you a CD) -- you can assign just about any keystroke to its buttons and scroll wheel. But I give it only four stars because its extra features aren't very ergonomic -- particularly the side buttons, and most particularly the one on the right. At least so far -- I'm still experimenting -- the only way to press it without repositioning your hand is to use the inside of your third finger. That's do-able, but not very intuitive.
Great Mouse [Posted on 2008-09-30] This a great mouse, I have a bad hand but with this mouse my hand is comfortable and I can use it for as long as I need to. I highly recommend this mouse.
2nd Greatest Mouse Ever [Posted on 2008-10-03] Next to the Logitech MX Revolution, this is the best mouse. I love this mouse. Its just plug and use, if you're searching for a new, affordable mouse, get this one, its comfortable and easy to use.
Good, reliable cordless mouse [Posted on 2008-10-05] I have a Logitech Bluetooth mouse that I was using with my MacBook before I decided to upgrade (or downgrade) to the LX8. For work at my desk at home, I needed something that fit my large hand better. In addition, I was tired of dealing with the occasional bluetooth hiccup -- hence I went back to old fashioned USB.
I put the batteries in, plugged the receiver into my Mac and everything just worked. I am annoyed at how many side buttons get put on a mouse nowadays and simply want my two buttons and a tilting scroll wheel. Mac OS Leopard handles exactly what I need without any Logitech bloatware.
There have been no tracking issues whatsoever (the mouse is tracked by laser) or any RF hiccups. It's just like using a corded mouse. I have not had the mouse long enough to comment on its battery life. Overall, a good purchase at a reasonable price.
Very disappointed in Logitech [Posted on 2008-10-08] - Periodically ignores clicks (I click on the left button, but nothing happens). Resetting does not help.
- Pointer does not move smoothly. My hand is strained.
- Had to disable side buttons.
Very disappointed in Logitech. I loved my old Logitech corded optical mouse. I guess this is an example of when more advanced technology does not always mean better product.
