Safe from noisy neighbours now [Posted on 2008-09-25]
This product has been a great help in thwarting neighbors noise and getting me into a peaceful sleep, as in every city and apartment complex there are a bunch of rowdy neighbors who are f***ing annoying. So did mine. I ordered this product a week back and got it in 3 days. For past 4 days I have been having such peaceful sleep that i am more active in morning. I thought it was pricy earlier but when i get my peaceful sleep i feel it is worth every penny of it. And the control on volume of the white noise produced is great and variable.

Thanks to who ever designed this product.

It took awhile to get use to the constant sound, but we're getting use to it. The weather is getting cooler, so we like the windows open. It covers the annoying noices of barking dogs and traffic. We are going to take it on our trips and use it in our hotel room as well.

I have found it very helpful! My sleep has improved dramatically. Took it on a trip and stayed in a hotel and it even worked there! Awesome product overall, would highly recommend.

I've Tried Everything, Not Perfect but the Best [Posted on 2008-09-29]
Best thing is that it's made in the USA by an employee owned company!! I'm a very light sleeper and I'm sensitive to noise or any fluctuation of sound. As mentioned in most reviews the tinny, digital machines were distracting with their loop playing, I could hear the start/end and would anticipate it. I've had several and have several, I just purchased my 5th unit. The complaints of it not being loud enough are strange as nothing will drown out everything but I must admit the newer design is not as loud as the old design. The price is high, my fist machine was $99.99, but they last forever, I've destroyed a few so it's not the unit's fault. I've tried everything and this is the best, consistent sound machine that I've come across. Fans are good but as mentioned cold air blowing in winter, travel and size are things that should be considered. I discovered that the 2nd best white noise for me is tuning a radio between stations on the AM band when I forgot my unit when traveling. Recap, made in the USA, durable and consistent.

A Great Night's Sleep! [Posted on 2008-10-05]
I saw (and heard) a Marpac SleepMate in my doctor's waiting room. It not only contributed to a soothing atmosphere, but pleasantly masked most of the conversations in the room. After ordering one and using it for a few months I am even more impressed. We have a noisy highway and train crossing about a block from the back of our home. I'm a very light sleeper and no matter what sound machine we tried, the traffic noise and train whistles kept me up at night. But the Marpac eliminates those disturbing outdoor noises, so I don't notice them. The sound it makes reminds me of a large box fan, but without the excessive energy consumption and powerful breeze those fans produce. I couldn't be happier with my Marpac. I hope it lasts a long time.
