What OS are you using? [Posted on 2002-07-10] What a great game it was until OS 9+. Then, no support and no operability! Beware!
Cool interactive empire building concepts [Posted on 2002-08-16] There are about eight species you can chose from including humans or you can make up your own species. I like the graphics especially when you talk to other races or your own advisors. Remember to save it though and make sure you've save it before you quit or you'll have an unpleasant surprise waiting for you when you get back.
Lots of fun [Posted on 2004-05-15] I love games that make me think but don't require me to do a lot of little steps and remember a lot of details; I'll take an other college class for that. This game is constantly changing and you can plan out the big things yet still need to make adjustments so it doesn't get dull. That alliance you once had has been broken, not what do you do and still get to your next tech advance? I've decide I prefer to be the Spartans even if the Gaians are more in line with my own political views -- the goal is to win afterall.
Old, and classic [Posted on 2005-07-01] Sorry folks, but this game is old. And since it ROCKS, that makes it classic. The game is easy to learn, and takes forever to really master. When you can build 4 ships that can stand alone against any fleet the computer can ever come up with to throw at you, you're about halfway there. I still only put the game on hard, not impossible, most of the time because that setting makes the game drag as you fight for every single inch of space you want, whereas hard you only start fighting when you want THEiR planets as well as your own. Needless to say, I do alot of that. But anyway, buy the game, it's fun, it's simple at first but takes greater insight later on, right click anything you need info on, easy to use, and it cosst less then a 12 pack of soda. Just play it, you'll love it.
Old - but darn near perfection for a tactical game [Posted on 2007-08-01] Ok - its old - very old for a game - but like a lot of really old classics - its freaking great. It took Game of the year 10 years ago -and its still a strong game to pick up and play now and then.
The graphics are old and tired - and the AI isn't as great as maybe what a team could make today - but its still is better than 90% of the new stuff made today.
This runs fine on Win XP and under - and the game is inexpensive. If you don't have it - why don't you!
