5-yr old's favorite computer game [Posted on 2003-01-24] We bought this for Christmas - - and our 5-yr old just loves it. He plays it every day - figures out the missions and really learned the game fast. Absolutely worth the price.
No learning, just reaction [Posted on 2003-04-09] I purchased this game for my 5 year old son. The graphics are weak, and there is essentially no learning available. Only racing around trying to follow a wiggly 3d arrow and go from place to place. After 10 minutes, I was stuck at the bottom of the ocean, and there was only one ramp to get out, it takes quite a while to find the ramp. Ultimately this game is boring, perhaps if it had easy, and hard modes it might be OK, but save your money, get a learning game instead.
A little boy loves this game [Posted on 2004-11-05] There is essentially no learning value with this game, but I started out playing this with my son when he was 2 years old. He would make the vehicle accellerate and turn on the siren while I would steer. Eventually he learned to use the mouse to control the vehicles completely.
He is almost 5 years old now and he still plays this game fairly regularly. You can drive anywhere in the large virtual world. If he doesn't want to complete the missions, he will spend his time driving on the mono rail track, underwater, or driving off the mountaintops.
The game isn't perfect, but any game that a child continues to play after two years is good in my book. While it is not a learning game, he has developed excellent mouse skills and is very proficient in using a combination of mouse and keyboard. I do credit this game for that development.
a great driving game!! [Posted on 2005-08-04] this game is great you drive around in an ambulance, firetruck and a police car!! except be careful when driving the firetruck and policecar i tried the firetruck and it's good but too slow almost i tried turning on a bridge and i slowly crashed into the lake!! when i had the police car it gotten too fast and i drove off a turn before i knew it and splashed into the lake again!! the ambulance is the medium of all 3.
5-year-old's opinion [Posted on 2006-07-03] If I had a 100 stars I would give it that. I really like that you get to rescue people. I like it that you can change vehicles and I love that you can drive under water. It's easy to play. I like the arrows because they show you where you need to go and where the person is that you need to get. The police motorcycle is my favorite because it goes super fast. I wish it had a speed boat.
