Do not waste your money on this. [Posted on 2007-10-10] I purchased this product July 2007, and could not get it to accept the activation key code. Microsoft gave little to no help with this problem. The time period expired and would not let me enter new transactions into the accounts. I tried to remove and reinstall per Microsoft's instructions but to no avail. Phone support only gave me more phone numbers to call, and the program is still not working. Please do not waste your money on this program, but try Quicken Home and Business instead.
Microsoft did it again [Posted on 2008-01-19] I've been a Money user for several years. I started with Money 2003, then I jumped to Money 2005. My initial experiences are really not bad. Actually, they are indeed good. Good reporting, good categories catalog, easy to use, helpful, etc. But this last version, at some point in time, started to fail by not exporting my reports to Excel in the correct way. It exported everything messed up as text. Then I decided to upgrade to Money Plus Home and Business expecting to get this thing resolved. Well, it didn't. Besides it opens up in a very sloooow way. I don't know what this software does in the background but it is indeed very slow. Money 2005 wasn't that way. Besides it happened I had a problem with backing up my financial file. It showed an error in the path. By the way, that's the path where the original file is located so it is absurd it cannot find it.
I said MS did it again because I have very bad experiencies with Vista and Office 2007. I don't know what is happening to MS but this, Money Home and Business is definitely my last official purchase of MS products.
( I already started to work on the Mac environment, by the way .... other world ).
Money Plus Trashes Your Data [Posted on 2008-05-24] Microsoft Money Plus Home and Business
I switched from Money 2006 to Money Plus last year when only the beta version was available. When it was almost time for the beta version to expire, I tried to buy the new program. Unfortunately it was not yet for sale, nor would it be for several months. When the beta expired, the program was only good for viewing data. The new data format of Money Plus made it impossible to export the data to Quicken or back to Money 2006. I was left with the choices of (1) going back to Money 2006 and manually inputting all the data since I switched to Plus, (2) not using any accounting software while I waited for Money Plus to become available, (3) switch to Quicken. Since I was starting over anyway, I decided that was a good time to switch to Quicken.
Like an earlier reviewer, I have other issues with Microsoft (which used to be my favorite software company). Office 2007 Pro has a totally unfamiliar interface and Outlook 2007 is the most unstable program I've ever used, even after upgrading XP to SP3 and Office to SP1. Bill Gates needs to go back to work and fix his company.
