Not sure what the other reviewers experience was but this book did not help with much except having the software with the book.
There were no examples to follow, she basically told you exactly what was on the screen without any further explanation of what it was or why you would need to use it. Also, if you are not an accountant or haven't been using a different program before then this book will not help you setup accounts or credit cards, etc. anymore than the on-line help will.
Save your money and look for a different book. This one will not be helping too many people.

This is a good book for the price. Having read several, I would say that this is one of the better books on Office Accounting. It takes you through all the major areas of the product and explains how they work. Great. Now most beginners would probably like to see more examples or maybe even labs to really get the hang of things - I would love to see the publisher add these to their website...

Excellent book!
Since this is free software from Microsoft (comes with the book) you can hardly go wrong by purchasing. For less than 20 bucks you get the software and the book, very good price for small businesses where every dollar matters.
The glossary is very helpful in explaining accounting terms for those just starting out in their business and new to accounting.
With the instructions provided it is very easy to modify internal forms for most any small business model.
If you have a home based business that sells products on Ebay this book is super.
All in all, this book provides the free software and walks you thru step by step on how to setup and easily use Office Accounting Express for your business.

So far this product is number #1. I'm not much of an accounting guru but I found it pretty straight forward. Read the book, try out some trials and away you go. Good Luck!

This book is basically a rehash of the help files. It includes long descriptions of the mechanics of the program (how to open a particular dialog box, long listings of the fields on each form) with almost no explanation of why you would choose to take a particular action. It is all minutiae, no "big picture". This book will show you how to enter a new vendor record, but will not teach you anything about using the tool to help you run your business.
