Works fine... when it's not overheating [Posted on 2007-10-06]
I didn't need a card reader for everyday use, so cheap sounded good. I paid $5.50 shipped, so if it didn't work, no big loss. So with VERY low expectations I plugged in the super-short 1' USB cable and waited for XP to recognize the reader. It did. I inserted my SD card into my "best guess" slot because there are no instructions at all and it looks like the card will fit into 3 of the 4 slots. I had success on the first try, but I've been building computers for years so I may be more "advanced" than the average user (go figure). But after a while I started getting error messages in XP saying the device failed when I wasn't using it. So I picked it up and it was VERY hot. Being such an "advanced" user, I unplugged it. After it cooled I plugged it back in and it worked fine. So my superior intellect tells me I should keep it disconnected until I need to transfer data. Also keep in mind I have no idea if the cheap contacts are ruining my cards every time I insert them. By now, most of you should be thinking, "maybe I'll just buy a better built reader". ;)

Good product so far. I have only used it for two or so weeks, and has serve its purpose. Plastic case seems a little fragile, though. For the price, however is a good buy. Hope this helps.

Do not buy! This product messed up my memory card! It's not worth the few bucks you save because you'll have to buy a new card which cost much more. I just bought one from Target for $12.00 and it works perfectly!

This is not a good hardware. Worked ok for 2 weeks and barely worked after that. This is really cheap product.

Mini All in 1 Card reader [Posted on 2008-09-24]
Bought 3 of this a while back and they were all working for a month or so. One I left it plug in to my desk top for a couple of hours then it got warm so I unplug it. I waited for to cool off and then plug it back in then it wasn't working anymore. The other two didn't work after two months. They are cheap and convenient to use but it's not worth it to buy.
