No where close to a Jawbone [Posted on 2008-02-22] I've had a Jawbone since they first came out. For the last few months I've had problems getting a good connection between the Jawbone and the charger. I now can't get it to charge at all. Two days ago I went to the ATT store looking for a replacement. I liked the small size of the H12, and it was easier to put on my ear that the Jawbone. I also liked the magnetic coupling to the charger of the H12. (I attribute my charger connection problems with the Jawbone to the tight fit and resulting difficulty in removal.)
BUT the bottom line on any Bluetooth device is how well both parties can hear. This is where the H12 fails miserably. Every person that I talked to today said that I sounded like I was in a well. Tomorrow I am going back to the ATT store to exchange the H12 for another Jawbone.
Doesn't deserve even one star... [Posted on 2008-03-17] What a shame for Motorola! I thought it was time for me to move on from my Plantronics 510 which is really old and beat up. I heard nice things about this from the AT&T salesperson the other day and so I thought what the heck; I'll give it a try. It does look shiny and nice; but that's where the good things stop! The incoming sound is EXTREMELY soft; I couldn't hear the other person in the quietest place even in my office... Really, when it comes to a headset, the sound quality is where I draw the line. As with many other new Bluetooth headsets I've seen, it accepts a limited number of charges before the battery is useless. According to the manual, after 200 or 300 times of recharging the battery, you need to get a new headset. I charge my Bluetooth headset every night so I'd never run out of battery the next day, so this posed a serious problem. Knowing this would've only lasted me less than a year, this was another huge drawback for me. It came with a charging stand and a _cute_ travel charging pod. Again, another problem area since you can't just plug in the power cord to the headset without having to carry some kind of a stand with you everywhere you go. Naaah.. Not for me! Feel free to ask questions in the comment area in case I missed something here.. Oh and I returned mine. No need to keep torturing oneself any longer! :-D
great size, bad reception [Posted on 2008-03-24] This product is a great size and at first worked fine. Then after a few weeks I started having issues with it. I started hearing alot of static and some people couldnt even hear me. I tried unpairing it a few times and it still gives me problems. I am actually trying to return the product now.
Clear sound [Posted on 2008-03-26] nice, light weight, battery life doesn't last very long. it does not block out background noise like it claims but it does boost the sound so you can hear who you are talking to much better. it is very comfortable and it is easy to forget you are wearing it. it very small and easy to hide under your hair.
Magnetic Charging unit...Nice Touch!! [Posted on 2008-05-09] I have zero complaints about this headset. I bought it at the local Military NEX and I paid 99 dollars for it. I see its cheaper at other places, but not much cheaper.
I have a Motorola Cell phone so it made the bluetooth connection that much easier. I would imagine it would be a problem on other phones, but I don't know. This is my first bluetooth headset, but its comfortable and the voice commands are good too.
I ride my bike a lot and I tried wearing it on my ear during my ride (peddle bike), it never slipped off or anything.
THe wind reduction doesn't work in the extreme wind noise from me riding but that's pretty extreme.
Overall, I'm very satisfied, I recommend this product if your budget calls for it.
Yes, the two different charing units that it comes with are nice, they are magnetized so it stays on the charger easier....NICE TOUCH!
