pretty good [Posted on 2006-11-11]
This is a great game to spend a Saturday on. Its very short but the graphics are really good. Your character does move way to slow and the dialog can get pretty boring at times. I mostly like the puzzles, some were a challenge and to me the best. If you want action this game is not for you. If you like to take things slow and relax then buy this game.

NiBiRu...The Mysterious Planet of Cheese [Posted on 2006-12-19]
Let's start with the a positive note: the background graphics are gorgeously done which remind me of the Myst game series. I think the game would come across even better if they made it first person instead of the awful third person graphics they laid on top of the background graphics. The characters body/ergonomic movements remind me of second generation Nintendo graphics - awful!

Then there is the voice acting/scripting - just terrible; sooo unnatural you can almost hear the pages in the actors hands being switched - and did they hire people off the street to do the painfully fake European accents voice-overs on here? There are even parts where you can hear they used different people for the voice-over scripting in the same paragraphs or sentences.

Some of the logic behind things you have to do is moronic. I don't know if they are intended to be comedic, or it's just more cheese. For example, having to tie a stick of dynamite to a rat to let him go through a hole in a wall to blast a secret door open...I'm sure we all think of things like that to do in our problem-solving skills. With the over all serious tone of the game from the beginning, I'm guessing this wasn't an attempt at humour, but just plain cheese as with the voice scripting/acting.

I haven't even finished the game, but I'm going to since I paid for it, even if it means turning the audio off because the voice-acting/script is as bearable as nail scratching a chalkboard...and that's what makes this game almost scary.

Almost like it... [Posted on 2007-03-08]
The game is interesting, but there are a couple of issues that make it painfull to play this game. I agree with many other reviews that the puzzles are either 'moronic' or 'rocket science' and that the voices and character movements simply suck. Otherwise, I wish the game had more detail and was longer.

ultimately disappointing [Posted on 2007-05-26]
I almost liked this game as another reviewer put it. Graphics/plot/atmosphere are well thought out, puzzles are interesting (you don`t need to be MENSA to solve any of them, unlike another reviewer said), I never had to use a walkthrough for difficult bits (a first), however the nibirus` cardinal sin is its HORRIBLE ENDING. Henceforth I would recommend you purchase the Black Mirror from the same developers instead, which I enjoyed way more. Also Scratches and There was None were satisfying games.

"Mild" Language? [Posted on 2007-12-02]
I am a big fan of adventure games in general, and got this game on vacation this summer. I had only played it a few minutes when there was a d**n and h**l. I expected this. In my mind that is "mild" language, however, that is not the extent of the severity of the language. Immediately following these words was a G-d**n. I really hate to spell it out, but I am a Christian and this type of language really offends me. Other than the language this game looked very promising. The graphics were really nice, and the voice acting was good (just not what was coming out of their mouths!). Just to be fair to the company, when I complained to them, they were really great about it and willingly replaced my game for a more appropriate fit.
