Performs as promised [Posted on 2008-04-07] Product installed easily and smoothly, and performs just like you'd think it should. It installed itself into my MSOffice apps so you can create PDFs of your documents and spreadsheets. I haven't used it extensively for marking up or changing PDFs, but my simple playing with the tool seems to show that editing PDFs is easy too. A good alternative to Adobe Acrobat.
It could not use it [Posted on 2008-04-10] I bought the Nitro PDF Professional 5.3.3.? version two months ago, which would not successfully edit a single page PDF Flyer with a small picture and vertical large font text on the left of page.
It also failed to convert the PDF into MS Word successfully. It got mixed with box color and the background color. It also lost the large size vertical text and the picture. The regular size text which was converted was in its graphical-text-box, difficult to edit every line that way. So I could not edit in Word and convert it back to PDF document in this scenerio. At lst I ended up buying MS Publisher to start the flyer from scratch and converted it to JPEG for printing.
Another big disappointment is the IRS Tax Forms printed by Turbo Tax to PDF Nitro lost all the lines and boxes, did not look like regular return.
Perhaps I should have bought Adobe, though expensive, but could have saved me time and frustrations.
NITRO PDF, Excellent Product [Posted on 2008-05-09] Excellent product. I have used all of the Adobe suit in my business and I would say that this matches up very well for the price. I had some trouble registering it online which is kinda normal these days, also the fact that it "stamps" pdfs with its brand name can erk sometimes. Overall though, very easy to use and a nice product for the price point.
Great Product! Wish I had bought it years ago! [Posted on 2008-05-13] I have never been able to justify spending the money on Adobe products, and have always been looking for an alternative that would not break the bugdet. It is a real shame I did not find Nitro PDF sooner. Very solid product, great price and all the functions I need.
Highly recommended.
No 64-bit Vista/XP support--FYI! [Posted on 2008-06-12] Just FYI--I bought this, waited on it, and tried to install on my 64-bit Vista system (it said 'Vista' compatible on the description), but informed me that it had no support for 64-bit XP or Vista. So, i had to return it and begin looking for ANOTHER PDF-solution for Vista64.
I may be perfect for 32-bit usage, but i couldnt test it. I just wanted to let others know about this limitation, so they wont waste time.
