Great multifunctional value [Posted on 2001-02-24] With all of these features this fax has become an integral part of my home office. I couldn't be happier!
Good Product But I Also Need Printer [Posted on 2001-06-25] I bought the previous (i.e. same) Panasonic cordless/fax product about 1 year ago. It has performed wonderfully with constant usage of the fax, cordless, and answering machine functions. I think that Panasonic hit a home run with the features included. In fact, I don't even use all of the functions (i.e. pager notification of fax or message), but they are there for the more adventuresome faxers. Saying that, beaware that Panasonic uses a carbon film roll. You can usually get a box of 2 for about $24 which will last ~300 pages each. You might want to get one quickly after receiving your machine. The one accompanying the machine is only good for ~30-50 sheets if I remember right. The cordless battery life is typical of most hansets. In fact, I replaced my battery last week after usage for a year. Not bad. The only problem I have is that I now need an all-in-one that I can print to from my laptop. I really wish that Panasonic had had a product with such a feature combined with an inkjet configuration.
Great solution for a one phone line home/office [Posted on 2002-09-06] To save [money] I don't want a dedicated FAX phone line. This machine is the solution. As long as you answer the phone with the handset, you will never miss a FAX. Missed the call altogether? No problem. This machine will take the callers message or print the FAX, A U T O M A G I C A L L Y.
Piece of junk [Posted on 2003-04-04] I've had two different units of this model, and both broke for different reasons. I purchased the first unit 2 years ago. Just before the one year warranty expired, I had to have the unit replaced because the tabs that latch the compartment to install the fax ribbon were flimsy and they broke. The fax machine would not work without this compartment closed. Panasonic sent me a replacement unit, and this second unit broke within a year as well. It started registering errors on every fax it attempted to send. The faxes would either not start or would stop half way through transmission. I'm tossing it and getting another brand.
OK, but with problems [Posted on 2003-08-30] Firstly, I love Panasonic - I have Panasonic everything - tv, dvd, vcrs, phones ... all with great results, so I when I needed a fax machine, Panasonic was my only choice. It's OK -- receives faxes ok (though 1 page faxes go to 2 pages some times), sends ok (though I'm having a problem now where the roller is apparently sticking). My biggest gripe is that the answering machine is unusable for me. It works, but the message I leave always has static. I replaced the machine and the same thing occurs (they sent me a replacement right away - GREAT service). So, I just use it for a fax and phone ... and bought a cheap answering machine ... that sounds a whole lot better.
