Phone is good, but TALKING caller ID is a bogus feature [Posted on 2007-01-13]
Overall the phone works fine, but the TALKING caller ID feature is particularly bad. The synthisized voice is muffled and unclear. In addition, most of the time it gets the pronunciation horribly wrong, especially longer words that get broken down into crude syllables. After about a week of use, I can honestly say I have not once understood "her" utterances, even when we know the caller. The same for my wife and young son. It's a bit humorous for now, but I think we will be shutting off this feature soon as it becomes too tiring. We will probably still keep the phone, though, because everything else seems O.K.
If TALKING caller ID is the dealmaker for you on this model, then you should look elsewhere.

This was my second Panasonic cordless phone. The other was a 2.4 mhz that kept interferring with my home wireless network so purchasing a upgraded Panasonic 5.8 mhz made sense. I have no complaints regarding the phone except after 1 year and 4 months the led screen on the phone stop working.
I don't know if anyone else had this problem. The hanset was always care for and to my knowledge was never dropped. It's really tough to use the phone to look for numbers from missed calls or access the menu to make changes. I still recommend this phone and will look for a new handset to see if this corrects the problem.

I purchased 3 of these phones and plan to purchase another for another area of my home. This has the best reception, and stores telephone numbers very easily. Excellent Speakerphone quality as well.
