Replacement Panasonic Handset [Posted on 2007-01-10] Tech equipment becomes "obsolete" or out of production quickly these days. I needed a Replacement Panasonic KX-TG2700 Series Handset and none of the mainline stores carry this unit. A Google search actually indicated Amazon.com had a competative price along with a good history of solid transactions. The Panasonic Handset is a 2.4 GHz model and still a very good performer as my main phone system, presently 6 handsets. No hard wired phones. Very pleased with price, performance and reliability. FYI, I use a small UPS for my phone system, no loss of telephones with power outage.

Panasonic Phone System [Posted on 2007-01-16] Works very well. No problems. I try to leave it off the charger occasionally to cycle the batterys. Has worked fine.
Charming addition [Posted on 2007-01-17] I was pleased to see that Panasonic has changed their batteries to a nickel metal hydraid. These last so much longer and make it a welcome addition to the others I have. Once all the batteries are changed out I suspect I will be very happy with the system. This one is attractive and easy to use.

Good, But Not Reliable [Posted on 2007-01-26] The system is a great idea and I own 3 remote handsets. I have had to return two of them because the LCD displays failed, one after about 8 months of use and the other didn't work "new" out of the box. My third handset is also showing signs of LCD screen failure. ALL of the handsets that have failed have been "Violet" colored which seems like an unusual coincidence(?) and makes me a little suspicious that "Violet" units may be a substandard product line. I also have "White" and "Gray" handsets that work just fine. The return policy is pretty hassle-free, but why the problems to begin with?
