Nice Basic Phone at a Good Price [Posted on 2008-02-08] I bought six of these to be compatible with my Panasonic cordless system. They are, and all worked perfectly out of the boxes. Batteries have lasted fine. I have three improvement suggestions, but they are small items: (1) When wall mounted, the handset can be knocked off the base if one brushes by the phone -- it should be a little more secure. (2) A phone directory installed on one phone should be able to be copied to the other phones rather than having to re-enter everything on each phone. (3) The display should include a push-button backlight so as to be readable in the dark, and the red LED should blink on "message waiting" rather than only a LCD envelope indicator. (This would probably shorten battery life too much and is why Panasonic didn't include these items.) I am very happy with my purchase and with Panasonic and Amazon.
EXACT same phone as the 600B - 50 # directory [Posted on 2008-03-25] Actually, I haven't bought one yet; I just wanted Amazon shoppers to know that this one has a 50-number directory, just like the KX-TS600B... the ONLY difference between the two are the colors - black or white. Makes one wonder why one got 3.5 stars and the other 4?!
Panasonic Corded Telephone. [Posted on 2008-04-13] Great wall phone. Really like the caller ID & large phone book to store numbers in. Fast delivery!
good for the basics but some drawbacks [Posted on 2008-04-19] good volume, speakerphone, headset jack which seems hard to find in a corded phone, and it has caller id. The negatives are it requires batteries. This is not for backup only...it is soley powered by batteries. There is no power source to plug in. Also, there is no message waiting indicator when you have a voicemail (voicemail through phone system not answering machine). If you just need the basics, it's fine.
POOR MOUTHPIECE PICKUP [Posted on 2008-05-12] Need to hold my mouth VERY CLOSE to the headset when speaking. If not, the other party often has difficulty hearing me. This also becomes unsanitary. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.
