Not for the novice! [Posted on 1999-07-31]
Written on the cover of this book is the claim to be "The Official Guide" for Paradox 9. The introduction says it has material for the beginner and then two paragraphs later it tells you about the things that are left out and that beginner-level books should consulted. This is a good book for intermediate users, but if your a novice, there's no way to tell that this book can't help you until after you buy it. That add's up to money wasted.
Best Paradox Book for Newbies [Posted on 2000-01-10]
It appears that Paradox 9 is getting more and more popular now. The best Paradox book I found for newbies is the 'WordPerfect Office 2000 Bible' by Steve Harris. You can find it right here in Amazon.com

The title says it all. This is a book about programming. It is not a book for the casual or beginning Paradox user. But it is quite a good introduction into Paradox application development and its powerful ObjectPAL programming language. Paradox's object oriented approach is somewhat "different", and developers coming from another background can use a helping hand. This book is that and more. Highly recommended for advanced Paradox users and database application developers.

Overly simplistic with a total lack of continuity. A summary without details to arrive at any practical solutions.
Pdox programming [Posted on 2002-07-27]
this is a great book if you are trying to program with paradox. If you are new to paradox this book will not teach you the basics. This is for middle to advnace users. So if you are going to try to use opal, you will need this book. the only negative, I wish the book had a better index. i.e if i am looking up a command (i.e tc.lock) it would be next to have a page listing where this command was noted in the book.
