These are 2.4x not 8x [Posted on 2007-10-05]
The burning speed is incorrectly advertised as 8.0x when it's actually a maximum of 2.4x. Takes 45 min to burn just one instead of 15 min like I hoped I would be getting.

Updated***
These discs are terrible. Seems like they're warped pretty bad about 2/4ths the way through the second layer. Burned 4 of them and all give same results. I burned 8 video files to the disc and about 10 min into the 6th 30 min episode, it suddenly goes back to the main menu. I bought a new awesome pioneer dvd player and Verbatims work very nice with it but pass up on these phillips dvds

Save your money !! [Posted on 2007-11-24]
These DVD's are junk. I have tried half of the spindle and can't get one to record. I have used two different burners and niether will record them. They either spit them back out with a message such as "unrecordable" or they record half way and then spit them out with different error messages.

They must be made in China and should be recalled. I'll stick with Memorex.

Pretty Darn Good for "Me" [Posted on 2008-09-20]
When i got these Phillips 8x DL+R they were sold by Tiger Direct through Amazon, they came in good condition and were made in Taiwan where most of these things are made these days (so i hear). The Disk ID which imgburn spits out for mine is CMC MAG-D02-00 for those of you who know what that is about. All i can say is for MY USES these are pretty damn good! I've used them to back-up a few of my 360 games. I burnt using both imgburn on win xp and iburn360 on a mac, yes, I've gotten three coasters but that was entirely my fault. Imgburn reads them for a max burn of 2.4x not 8x as stated on the product and thus burns them at that speed even if you select 8x. I've managed to burn a couple at 8x on other programs no problems there but I'll stick to the slow burns. The laptop burner doesn't go past 2.4x so I'm stuck with that. All in all I'm almost down to about half the stack of 25 and so far only 3 coasters which were entirely my fault again. So these are pretty damn good "FOR ME". For those of you interested I'm using a GSA-H62L dvd burner on one PC and TS-L632D on a dell laptop (running osx) on both of them have I have not updated the firmwares. I've left the factory firmware untouched! For me these are good disks thus far, I will buy again and hopefully get the same make (from Taiwan). If your skeptical then get the Verbatim every one is wailing about, ( even though I've read that verbatim doesn't really manufacture their own disks anymore, so some how i really don't see the fuss with them anymore, but what do i know right?---well I know these work for me hehe Thats what i know :P ) I've taken away 1 star due to the fact that imgburn wont burn it past 8x lol maybe its not the programs fault maybe it is I dunno maybe i got lucky with a couple at 8x who knows but it shows some kind of inconsistency so minus one (-1*) but still great disks for me since i don't burn past 2.4 anyways :-|
