I purchased a Dual Handset unit and everything seemed to work fine for about 3 months. I really liked the quality of the XHD sound, ease of using the cid & phonebook functions, the speakerphone & the telephone answering unit. Then suddenly, the secondary handset unit lost ability to register with the base and the holder/charger base failed to charge the batteries. I reached a Customer Service Representative at the 800 number without difficuly who walked me through a diagnostic sequence. He agreed the secondary unit was not performing properly but both handsets/base should be returned to Customer Service for replacement under the warranty. Since the main handset/base unit was working fine, I asked if they could ship out a replacement unit with a credit card guarantee so I would have an opportunity to transfer my phonebook to the new unit. I had spent a lot of time putting it in plus added more numbers from my caller list. I was told that they could only send me a replacement if I sent back the phone first. I elected to return the problem handset with an explanatory letter and keep the working phone. I had given up hearing anything back from Customer Service, but nearly 2 months later I received a complete new replacement unit from Philips. I was able to transfer my Phone book to the new handsets very quickly and everything seems to be working again. I have suggested to their Customer Service that they offer customers the option to have a replacement unit sent out before returning a defective unit under warranty.

I like the phone- some of the ring tones are horrible, but it is sharp looking and very functional. One annoying part is that there is a red light that really does not stop flashing ever! It is supposed to indicate a call came in, but it really doesn't go away. So we put a piece of electrical tape over it and now the phone is perfect! Great sound, good speaker. I like it.

Thnk goodness my husband is the one who picked out and purchased this phone!! If it had been me I would have no one to blame. All the cons the reviewers ahead of me pointed out are right on.. I think my husband should have read them. For improved battery life, I did purchase new rechargeables but my phone "un registers" constantly it is very irritating.

I like the features of the phone. Only had it two weeks and already the 2nd headset is not able to communicate with the base. I had to contact phillips to have the phone sent back for repair/replace. I do not understand how cordless phones have been around so long and the technology still has not been perfected!!!

Love the look but the melody selection in disappointing.. Overall I am very happy with the phone quality and design
