Do not purchase this software!!! [Posted on 2006-07-28]
I purchased this software for my daughter who is learning to read. I was surprised and disappointed to discover that the software has problems. For example, when we were on the Long Vowel section, the computer asked us to pick the picture that began with the Long U sound. There were six pictures to choose from one of which was a ukulele. The computer even told us the name of each picture when we put our mouse over it. We chose the ukulele and asked the computer to grade our answer. We were given a buzzing sound and told we were incorrect. Of course we were not. The same thing happened on each of the Long Vowel pages. Even when I moved on to Short Vowels there were similar problems. I feel for the children who use this software and are not rewarded for their correct answers. What a deep shame for their little minds to be confused by such a problem. This company obviously did not follow up with quality control and have people review the software before they put it out on the market. All of the current software boxes should be pulled right away so that children are not confused any more with the already confusing process of reading!!
