Cheap USB headset [Posted on 2007-11-05] Yes this product is labeled and intended for use with a PS2, but it can also easily work on your PC or laptop. That's what I use it for, because there really aren't that many PS2 games that people still play online you know? But for the money you really can't beat this headset. Mono speaker would be a negative for some people, but I use this for playing online games on the PC, so I can hear the game with one ear and my teammates in the other. This can be used for Skype type software as well. You can make online phone calls or voice chat or whatever you want to do with a microphone and speaker. One warning: DON'T BEND THE MIC BOOM MUCH. I broke my first one and this is the replacement. :D
OK, even with only one earpiece [Posted on 2007-11-09]
My kids like this. I was hoping to find something for the same price, but with the obviously missing second earpiece. Some folks on the net suggest that other similar headsets might work, on some versions of the game, but I don't have the time or money to do experiments.
Apparently, using the headset works fine - like you'd use a mini communicator while using the big speakers from the TV for ambient sounds.
A little pricey, but seems to work fine in all the games.
Replacement Sony Headset [Posted on 2007-11-17] This was a good buy . I went to several stores before buying this headset online and the stores were only selling the $39 headset for PS2 and PS3 which I think is just down right greedy . The new headset works fine and is exactly the same as the original headset I purchased when getting into playing Socom online.
Works well but a bit flimsy [Posted on 2008-05-05] It's reasonably comfortable and works well on a PS3, but the head band broke within about 3 weeks. The kids taped it up and continued to use it. It lasted for about 4 months, but now there seems to be a short in the wiring on both sides of the volume control. The wire is very thin. I think that the wire and/or the rubbery covering should be a little thicker and stronger.
A great headset [Posted on 2008-05-12] Bought my second Logitech PS2 headset. The first one broke after two years of great service. The best part of this headset is not only the price (research PC headsets) but the fact that you can use this on PS3 games. Since the PS3 bluetooth headsets don't work with PS2 games, you need on of these headsets. Durable, light, and comfortable.
