Huge replay value... [Posted on 2007-09-24] The Playboy Mansion game is, when you come down to it, a somewhat interesting business game. You run the Playboy Magazine and have to publish a issue each month, full of interviews, photos of sexy women and interesting articles. To do so you have to hire staff, party with the movers and shakers of the fashion, film, sports and music industries, and try to get the best material for your magazine.
Do well and the cash and points will pour in, allowing you to buy new items, open new locations and throw more parties. Get enough fame and you can have up to four girlfriends.
The game is a fun business game, with sex and adult humor tossed in. Networking is very important - make sure to make as many deals as you can, gain lots of friends and flirt till you pass out. I love playing free style and in my current game have only two of the last goals left!
Always check out the trends before creating the issue, make sure to use your girlfriends to butter up future business partners, and always keep an eye on the bottom line - COST!
Cool But boring [Posted on 2008-01-08] Who doesnt like playboy? but this game sucks because there are too many glitches and it messes up all the time and crashes your ps2 so you have to turn it off and on. Its like a sim game that looks better but plays worse.
Interesting... [Posted on 2008-01-31] This was interesting but it's mostly disappointing. I really enjoyed the game play and liked that it had more involvement than a regular SIMS type game making you meet requirements and all BUT it is rated mature for sexual content but doesn't show anything. There is sex...but the characters wear underwear the entire time. You only see breasts and I don't see why that makes it a mature rating.
My Heff got to do interesting things like host partys, hire and fire staff, have sex on the pinball machine, etc.
This was a good buy and keeps me entertained.
The Sims + Boobs = Playboy The Mansion [Posted on 2008-03-19] I need to start this review with a disclaimer: I tried this game because I respect Hugh Hefner as an entrepreneur and liked the idea of building a publishing empire. Having played the game, I wonder how I was so naïve as to believe a game with Playboy in the title could be more than a softcore boobfest.
The Mansion has two possible target audiences, yet it manages to miss both completely. The first group consists of voyeurs looking for some tasteful nudity and a somewhat more "interactive" experience than the magazine. Unfortunately for them "tasteful" is not the first word I'd use to describe The Mansion, nor will they find the "interactivity" they seek. In order to steer clear of an AO rating, there is no nudity below the waist and "sensual encounters" are essentially heavily watered-down lap dances.
As for the other target audience, I'm thinking of folks who enjoy the Sims-style play serving as the foundation upon which The Mansion is built. Apart from a lot of bugs, the obvious problem here is that any innovations The Mansion might bring to the table are obscured by all the boobies.
The central theme is to play the role of a young Hugh Hefner and set out to build a publishing empire. In order to improve circulation of the magazine, you need to attract celebs for photo shoots and interesting people for interviews. In order to convince these individuals to work with you, you must prove you know how to have a good time by throwing endless parties, paying careful attention to the guest list to avoid potential personality clashes. While this all works well for the first few hours of the game, it quickly becomes a tedious chore to keep everyone in a constant state of elation.
The reality is that, at its maximum depth, The Mansion will barely reach your ankles. In fact, this review is probably somewhat superfluous because upon looking at the game's title and box artwork it's highly likely that any presumptions you might have are already completely accurate.
When dose the fun actually begin [Posted on 2008-06-20] Okay iam not a perverted person but i decided to play this game. When you have s$$ all the clothe's don't come off, you walk around finding women to flirt with then her heart pump's up then that's your time to do it. This game is like the sim's but with half nudity and s$$. The women give's you a lap dance but it's just plain stupid. This game was not really fun to me it gotten boaring.
