All the cop action you can handle [Posted on 2001-03-29]
From where it all began until Swat came out, this is the ultimate collection. Police Quest 1 (vga and svga) I liked the old version since the day i played it, it was much more fun, but both are great. Plice Quest 2 (vga) lots of fun, this was the first time i played it. Police Quest 3,4 (svga) both were great, 3 was better then 4, and 4 was... to put it nicely weird Swat. simply put fun for everyone who ever wanted to be part of the team. if you have or haven't played any of these games, get this you will enjoy it for hours on end.

Where in Europe can I order this? [Posted on 2002-09-06]
I'm a big fan of all the Police Quests series, and I'd love to have it. On this site, it can only be shipped within the US. Since I live in the Netherlands (Europe), I'm most unfortunate (what this is concerned) Has anybody got tips for me, where I can buy it in Europe??

The Best [Posted on 2004-05-26]
This is the best game i ever played in my life

I wanted to be Sonny Bonds! [Posted on 2006-08-02]
I don't know which Police Quest series Centerman was playing. He's got it totally wrong. Even though Darryl Gates's Open Season was weird, I thought it was interesting. The plot was strange and I felt the only way to get through it was with the hint book. Police Quest 1,2,3 were my ultimate favorites. I loved the plots, whether it was in pursuit of the death angel, revenge from his brother (I think), and the assault of Marie in the 3rd one. I never thought I would be disarming a bomb in the 2nd PQ. The first 3 had in depth plots, great action for its time. Open Season, I thought was good to a point. It was tough but the graphics and police procedures were real for its time also. Althought I didnt enjoy Open Season as much as Jim Wall's Police Quest 1,2,3 I still would of bought Open Season because you play a policemen.
In Police Quest, you were PO Sonny Bonds. You get into your uniform and cruise the streets of Leytton. Whether it was an accident or a hot woman blowing a red light, you had to follow strict police procedures. The heat gets turned up when you encounter a drunk driver, one who is armed, a drug bust, undercover, and lunch at the local coffee house. Towards the end when you are undercover, you are forced to bleach your hair, play cards and face the Death Angel. In PQ2, you get to go to a firing range, go to a warehouse murder, and in the end, you ultimatly stop a bomb in the plain and rescue a damsil in distress under the city in the sewers. I believe the evil doer was the Death Angel's brother. Again, following strict police procedures, and you actually drove to a location, watching from the actual drivers seat. Althought I was unhappy that you had no control over driving. I wanted to turn the siren and lights on, and drive to the locations. In PQ3, my wish came true. You could drive to the location in the sprawling city and have your lights on. Although no one got out of your way, it was a breath of fresh air from PQ2. The graphics for its time were great, and the plot was very thick. Your wife Marie was assaulted and Sony had to pick up the pieces and find out who did it. Most of the places for example, the hospital, park, police headquarters where beautiful rendered for its time. Police Quest Open Season, was very long yet interesting. The graphics were pretty good, and the intense action was decent. I was able to get through it with the hint book. I didnt feel the same vibe as I did playing Police Quest 1-3 though. Why did Gates put the main character in that ugly green suit lol. The murdered body in the trunk was very graphic and the police procedures were for the most part authentic. I just felt Open Season was a little wierd. Swat, I can sum up in one word: aweful! The premise was one a kind at that time, but the actions, animations, ability to click and move, or click to complete an action was just horrible in this game. I gave up after the first mission. it was just too much and I got bored of it.
I grew up with Police Quest and at that time I did want to becaome a policeman. I wished Jim Walls produced more of them. Would be nice to see Police Quest updated and redone for todays computers as in restart the series. Leave Police Quest Swat in the grave though. Let it sit in Jesse Baines aka The Death Angel's cold dead hands in Leytton. After PQ3 and Open Season, the SWAT series (That had the Police Quest name in it) were not good.
I loved the VGA version of Police Quest. It was a small letdown when it wasnt included in this package. I know its easy to find it online but it would of been nice to see it included with a few extras such as the making of.....
Open Season wasnt like the original 3 and wasnt made my Jim Walls, but I was still drawn to it. It had many puzzles to solve and was very dark and guesome at times. Although it wasnt like the other 3 Police Quests it certainly was different. I wish this franchise would of continued on.
