The most elaborate pinball table in the world. [Posted on 2000-07-22]
BigRace USA is filled with electronic noises of every sort. The game feels like a state of the art pinball table. It has dozens of different challenges and goals that are played on the table's video screen. It can run quick on even the slowest of computers. It's audio and music is all done in Dolby SurroundSound to produce a very amazing effect when using your stereo earphones. This is a cheap way to relive the excitement of the past's exciting pinball machines, which unfortunately, are few and far between nowadays.

Grand Champion!!! [Posted on 2001-07-08]
I got this for my friends and i would just like to say that we had countless hours of nonstop fun with this game. However sometimes, it can get annoying when you're so close to being the Grand Champion and the ball somehow makes it way past your flippers. However in my case that isn't a problem because i am the Grand Champion. Haha Paul. Whats that, whats that, is that Magno Charger for the 5th time in a row. Who has 40 road kills. Oh and I'd like to say just one more thing, "Get it in the TAXI!!!" All in all a great game.

When you can't play it at the local pub! [Posted on 2002-09-07]
If you love the real thing and want to get the closest thing to it at home without spending the big money and setting up a space in your garage or basement, then this is it!

The detail, playability, settings and control are even more then the real thing. Put a big screen in front of you and get lost in the days past so much so that you will be reaching in your pockets for another 50 cents when you drop the last ball without even realizing it.

For those like me that have always wondered what it would be like to be the one to get inside the machine itself and make the game tweeks, this will give you the satisfaction (more so then the others).

If you've ever played it at your local pub and liked it, BUY IT! If you haven't but like pinballs....... You won't find another game on the market that comes this close.

A most excellent pinball game, even on XP, if you know how. [Posted on 2005-06-10]
Big Race USA is a well crafted 3D delight. The ray-traced graphics are true-to-life, colorful and stunning. The physics are superb, endowing the steel balls with realistic movement and mass. The tunes are catchy, sound-effects authentic and the voices and spoken lines are hilarious. At high power settings, a flipper will make the ball smack the glass hard, which is very satisfying. It's like having a real, spanking new, well-tuned pinball machine in your room.

The operator's menu lets you create a custom difficulty level where you can choose the number of balls, set how long the ball-saver remains active and tune every other conceivable parameter of game play and scoring. The table-setup option lets you adjust table slope, machine condition and flipper power. You can make it respond like a factory-fresh dream or like a beat-up bar machine if you want. Extras let you examine the 3D game surface in detail with the ability to zoom in to high-resolution close-ups.

I've had this CD for years but I recently tried it on Windows XP with my new Athlon 64 4000+ screamer and was disappointed to find the flipper response was slow and even intermittent. It turns out that XP is not entirely compatible with the versions of Windows that Big Race USA was made for, rendering it unplayable. Fortunately I found a solution on the Web. Run it in Windows 2000 compatibility mode! When I did, all the flipper sluggishness disappeared and the game was fun again.

I play this on my new system in full screen mode, at the highest video resolution with all the bells and whistles turned on. It runs flawlessly with minimal latency. This game is a beauty to behold, still plays well on modern hardware and I strongly recommend you get yourself a copy.

This game is really BIG [Posted on 2006-06-01]
You liked The Web? You liked Timeshock!? or you simply love pinball? Then this is for you. It's just as addicting as Timeshock! because it's made in the same way, although the table theme is not the same, and it is different, also. This table has no bumpers, no magno-save unlike Timeshock! but has different features such as the "Air Bag", a sort of ball saver which closes the gap between the flippers - very useful - and bonus multipliers aren't won the same way. There are 2 different modes on the table : the CITY and ROAD mode. Depending on which mode you are, you can or can't start some modes. For examples, you can start some modes in the city mode, depending on what city you are in the game (just as in Timeshock it was depending of what time zone you were), but you can't start them in the road mode, however in this one you can start the video mode. Yes, there is still a video mode in this pinball, and yes, you can win an extra-ball. Some features have been added, for example you earn money to buy a planner, a city guide, activate the air bag, or if you only have $1 or $3, a lottery ticket (6 numbers appear, and if 3 of them match then you win the corresponding amount of money) or a cookie (a phrase appears in the matrix display - it doesn't make much sense at the beginning, but actually there are secrets on the table and these phrases have usually something to do with them...). These is also a ramdom bonus feature, the "open the trunk" (just as the scanner on TS! or the explosion on TW), which makes you choose between a random amount of money or a bonus (there is a little secret about these bonuses. Can you find it?). The "frenzies" (multiballs), extra-balls, quickshots etc. are still here, all those nice features haven't been removed. For one of these you have to light several locks, and depending of how many locks are lit, you will have 2, 3, or 4 ball frenzy (for example if you have locked 3 balls and only 3 locks are lit, you have to start a 3-ball frenzy). The operator's menu is also still here, but ALL the features are available from the beginning!! So you can make it easier than TS!. Why not play with 10 balls, a 30 second ball saver, 30 second air bag time and easy difficulty to lock the balls for Police Chase Frenzy (meaning that the "light lock" is always lit when you start road mode and not just the 1st time) instead of 3 balls-20 secs-20 secs-medium ? Or how many points can you make with 1 ball, no EBs, no ball saves etc. ? Customizing the table is very fun. I won't tell you too many things, since it would be long and it will be less fun but believe me : if you really like pinball, GET IT NOW!!!!
