Good Ole' Dummies [Posted on 2007-07-11] I love the Dummies series of books, they always do a good job of laying things out for the non-expert (which is why most of us buy them right?)
This book is no exception, it does a very good job of getting you into and using QuickBooks. I doubt the book will make you an expert but if you need to get started right away, maybe you have a job interview on Monday for example, then this book is the way to go.
Disappointed [Posted on 2007-07-14] I agree with everything Keltic Kat said. I've never written a book review before, but this book annoyed me so much that I felt compelled. Maybe it's helpful for those who have no accounting knowledge. Personally, I thought it would be much more informative; as I'm reading it, I'm getting frustrated with the "you don't need to know that" crap. I bought the book because I DID want to know that crap. Ugh.
Dissapointing [Posted on 2007-12-13] Like most of the "for Dummies" books, this is supposed to approach and explain the topic casually. Normally, I enjoy this kind of thing. However, this book/author leaves the reader with no details and little more than a summary of the what all the menus do. The author attempts (very bad) jokes in spots where I am expecting more detail.
If you're looking for a thorough understanding of Quickbooks, you'll be frustrated with this book - look somewhere else. If you're looking for self-effacing quips by the author, this is the book for you.
Pissed [Posted on 2008-01-28] I never got the book, they never had it to send. So, why in the hell ask me for a review????
Quickbooks for dummies [Posted on 2008-06-04] OK, I guess I am a dummie. This book is a help but it still did not answer all of my questions and I had to call an accountant. It is a MUST HAVE if you are trying to set up Quickbooks for a business.
