I hate this WIN program; my old MAC program is far easy to use. As a matter of fact, I never used Quicken Basic 2008 WIN due to such inconveniences. I failed to import my QIF files from my old MAC Quicken 4, though I contacted Intuit Tech Help several times and their instructions never worked.

Now the Quicken has demonstrated an ability to consistenly degrade their product and alienate their own user base, I reccomend trying a free service like yodlee or wesabe instead.

The Vista Trap [Posted on 2007-09-26]
MS Vista will not support your old versions of any Intuit product, such as Quicken or Quickbooks. You are required to upgrade to 2007 products. Quicken Basic is the cheapest way to support the data from earlier products. I do not like all of the fluff that has been added. It interferes with the "basic" system.

Not worth the money t upgrade to this [Posted on 2007-09-30]
We bought this to finally do an upgrade to our existing quicken 98 and this has been a horrible experience and I am now back to the older version. Very simple problem, 2007 does not recognize the old account currencies and migrates all accounts ot US dollars atthe first installation. I called customer service and was on the phone for over an hour and they tried so many different attamepts and it did not work. I was left with next steps to do myself by re-installing the older version again and then do it in 2 steps using QW 2002 then 2007. I have not done that as I am glad I am back to my original perfectly working quicken 98.
So net, if yuou have used different currencies in your existing version of quicken, 2007 will not work properly for you.

I see a lot of negative reviews but the product worked for me. My Toshiba laptop came with an older version of Quicken so I upgraded to this version without significant issues.

I will agree that each new version is somewhat worse than the previous versions but I am able to download my bank and brokerage accounts into Quicken and it does keep the data there for me.

I don't care for the new reports section as no matter how I save a report for one security when I bring it up later all subsequent securities have been added to it. That is frustrating but not a deal breaker.

I'm not a Quicken cheerleader but this is a passable piece of software.
You have to buy the update to print out some tax documents.
Also can't download from Paypal or Emigrantdirect.com
