Lots of potential...a big disappointment. [Posted on 2008-02-26] I have a home business and spend easily 30 hours per week on the phone - both direct calls and conference calls. The phone itself as far as functionality goes is acceptable - it's sleek and is nice not to have an entire base station sitting on the desk. However, that's where the positive comments end. The headset it extremely uncomfortable - it doesn't conform to the shape of a head nor does it offer a comfortable earpiece; wearing it for more than 10 minutes was unbearable. The sound quality was horrible - not only did I have trouble hearing my caller, but also dealt with both headset echoes and also conference line echoes. Needless to say, the headset lasted less than two calls before I swapped for a plug in headset. Even with plugging in a headset, the sound quality was still not sufficient and despite numerous attempts and fiddling, I still could not get the call echoes to disappear both on the headset and also on conference calls. After a week of struggling with this phone, it was packed back up in the box and replaced. Extremely disappointing for a phone that appeared to have so much potential.
Is this thing next to impossible to get parts for or what? [Posted on 2008-03-25] Got this off of ebay and like many used things from ebay I didn't get everything, including the battery for the headset and the foam ear pad.
Are replacement parts for RCA products a secret or something?
In my search I've come across TONS of negative reviews of RCA products, and NOTHING positive. IMO this is a VERY bad sign...I have a sinking feeling that this "find" on ebay has turned into another thing thats going to end up in my "geek closet".
I would avoid.
Mediocre all the way [Posted on 2008-04-28] The phone works OK, but occasionally would require being re-initialized in the cradle. However, over a few months the headset broke in multiple places and this time I was unable to re-solder the microphone. Disappointing for the price. My old IBM FADS900 was great but the don't make it any more. Just waiting for someone else to come up with something in this form factor.
Love this product [Posted on 2008-05-02] The best phone that I have ever owned. This is a great product. Arrived very quickly.
Best that is out there [Posted on 2008-05-14] After throwing away junk that was ACT, returning Plantronics, and one Bluetooth product that also makes junk and calls them wireless headsets, I bought this one reluctantly, never expecting it to work as well as it did. No problem with voice quality, intereference or anything. Just a superb product.
