Doesn't work in so many ways, it's almost impressive [Posted on 2008-02-25]
Cons:
The side buttons are absurdly small, fiddly, too close to the back.

The programmable side buttons won't learn show desktop or task switch macros because, if you press them in the programming menu, your PC will either show desktop or task switch.

I have programmed backspace for one of the buttons for web-browsing. It doesn't work but pressing backspace on my keyboard does.

When I turn the PC on, I sometimes have to unplug and replug the mouse otherwise it remains 'off'.

It's too small and flat. The Microsoft/Razer Habu is about perfect in this regard - if you really want a Razer mouse, I recommend that. The buttons programme correctly on the Habu as well.

It doesn't work on my desk - maybe something to do with the white surface. So I have an optical mouse for which I have to buy a mousepad.

It feels cheap.

Excellent mouse for PC or Mac [Posted on 2008-03-07]
I purchased this aesthetically pleasing mouse about 1.5 years ago. Although it did take a few days to acclimate to, I have enjoyed its precision and comfort through many, many hours of use. It looks great and functions beyond expectation.

The only minor setback (in my opinion) are the thumb buttons. First of all, I'm glad they exist (unlike on the Copperhead model) since I use thumb buttons frequently for both browsing and gaming. I'm used to them now, but at first I considered them too small and conservative. The buttons themselves are very thin and requires a precise touch. However, I have no problem now that I'm used to them.

A note on drivers: I've heard quite a few complains about Razer drivers. My advice to you is this: don't install them. I have used the default Windows and OSX drivers for this mouse and have never had a problem. The sensitivity is still there. The buttons are mappable either in-game or from within Windows. No problems whatsoever on that topic.

Conclusion: excellent mouse from a user that has certainly put it through the flames over the past 1.5 years. Get one!

Mac users beware. [Posted on 2008-04-27]
This mouse is marketed as a high precision mouse with good drivers for Apple Computers. This mouse fails on both counts. The drivers only partially work with several newer operating systems. The most annoying drivers related problem is that every time you plug in this mouse or restart your computer, the drivers will reset the system sensitivity to slowest. This means that when the computer is started, the user has the chore of resetting their sensitivity to a comfortable level. I can tell you firsthand that both 10.5.2 and 10.4.11 are not fully compatible with Razer's drivers. If you check their website's list of drivers for this mouse you will see that they only offer drivers for 10.4 and 10.5. This means that you may need to downgrade your operating system to use this mouse.
Software problems aside, the mouse I received also has very inconsistent clicking especially in the left button. It requires multiple clicks before it registers anything, sometimes it double clicks things after one click, once in a great while it will perform up to par. The side buttons are also poorly placed. the ones on the right side of the mouse are difficulty to reach, this reduces the usable number of mouse buttons to 5 counting the wheel.
I do not reccomend buying this mouse to anyone, Mac users in particular.

I now have 2 of these mice - one for each computer. The light weight and responsiveness make this a perfect companion to large displays like my 30 inch Apple monitor. I use Steer Mouse to control the buttons and acceleration instead of the supplied mouse software.

Much better than the Apple Mighty Mouse [Posted on 2008-07-24]
I needed to replace my Apple Mighty Mouse because it kept sticking, and the roller ball had many intermittent problems. I researched what the best replacement would be on a mac. Hands down everyone seemed to recommend the Razer v1.6. I received mine yesterday, plugged it in, downloaded the latest driver from Razer and it works like a charm. I was able to program the buttons to do everything the Mighty Mouse did and more. I like the lights, I like the way it feels, and I like the way it performs. I most likely will replace all of my mice with this one after testing it out more!
