Some users have complained that this pack is too heavy. True, it is a little heavier than a lightweight pack, but this is a pack that you can depend on. I took this on a two week trip between Paris and London. The Veloce Bag never let me down. The ability to switch between a backpack and an over the shoulder pack was especially useful. There were lots of situations (crowed gift shops, etc.) where a pack on one's back is too awkward and the over the shoulder option was great. The ability to expand the pack for extra room came in handy with the rain in London. I was able to stuff raincoats inside w/o issues. The exterior mesh drink pocket doubles an umbrella holder: a must for London.
In summary, this is a heavy-duty bag with lots of features. Buy it and you won't be sorry

Item is exactly like on the RS website. I used this on a trip to Italy and it was a great size and expanded and had loads of pockets. A great all around bag.

I just got this product locally. I wanted to get something that would carry my size 14 shoes and also a huge mathematics textbook comfortably (plus food for lunch).
This "Veloce bag" does all that and more. I can insert paper into one of several slots and it won't get wrinkled. There are many more slots for more things such as pens, a point and shoot camera, a thermos holder. And there is still more room!
I haven't tried it yet, but it is designed to carry a laptop, too. (I mean I have not tried to carry running shoes, textbook AND a laptop.)
I believe the quality will hold up to extended use.
