It seems to work well! [Posted on 2007-06-14] Sun Guard didn't change the look or texture of our clothes at all. I was thrilled that our t-shirts looked and felt exactly the same afterwards. However, it's been too soon to tell how well the sun protection works and if it really lasts through 20 washings.
More Info Needed [Posted on 2007-08-12] I was very intrigued by your product and ordered it to sun proof our biking clothes for the RAGBRAI. Upon receiving the product to my dismay, I found out that Sun Guard only works on cotton or cotton blend clothing. I don't remember reading this information in the on line description. I couldn't sun proof most of our biking clothes, as the clothes are polyester, nylon, and lycra. Also, the instructions inside the product do not tell you how to use the product in a front loading washing machine. I tried using it dry in the powder compartment, but that didn't work for me. I wasted one packet! Does Sun Guard really help clothes to block the sun? I really don't know the answer.
Front Load washers [Posted on 2007-09-20] I guess the product is good, who can say for sure I never really burned thru my shirts before Sun Guard usage but I guess it can't hurt. If you have a front load washer you will need to disolve the product first in hot water then start you washer without the clothes let some water fill then hit "add a garment" then add the disolved Sun Guard (In hot water) then close the door and start the washer again let it continue to fill and mix then "add a garment" again and add clothes and extend the soil/wash time so the washer stays in the wash cycle for at least 15 minutes. Not really that hard once you do it a couple times. I had to think about this for a few minutes to get a game plan, I hope this helps some of you. Good luck
great stuff [Posted on 2008-06-25] so far it seems to work pretty well, besides, it doesn't affect the clothes any other way. i'm happy with it.
TOO EXPENSIVE [Posted on 2008-07-03] If you go to Rit's website you can get Sunguard for $1.95 for 1 packet, $5.95 for 3 packets or $11.94 for 6 packets. It's a good product, but you don't have to pay this amount!
