Good Game! [Posted on 2001-08-25] This game is worth the [cost]. The game is also scary, you dont know if a 1,000 pound brown bear is going to attack you from behind. There are many animals and lots of guns to choose from to. I recommend this game to be played on a little bit faster computer.
A Guilty Pleasure... [Posted on 2001-12-24] Rocky Mountain Deer Hunter is suprisingly challenging and offers a greater appreciation for the outdoors than most games -- a definite plus, in my view. Even when the hunting's pretty lousy, which for me is pretty much every time I've played, it can be fun to tromp around in the snow on foot or tool around in the pick-up or boat to explore the "countryside". Deer Hunter is definitely a "guilty pleasure" I don't indulge in much; the graphics are passable, but they're not enough to really transport you into the environs and suspend your disbelief that, after all, you're really just a computer geek (or the relative of one who bought this for you) with a mouse under your palm, not a woodsman with a rifle... and that's probably a good thing, if you aim the virtual gun as poorly as I do. :-) The firing range provides another aspect of the game, allowing to to get a feel for the various weapons in your arsenal, including the trusty compound bow. Experiment with the various other accessories available, such as a camoflagued hunting blind, a tree stand (just remember to disassemble it before you leave... else you'll probably lose it.), various scents and animal calls, binoculars and such.
Trophy Pack [Posted on 2001-12-31] I find it very hard to rate a game as to how much fun it is when it locks up EVERY time its played. The company has no patch for it and I go on there message board I see I am not the only person complaining about this. The game was not that expensive but I feel all the bugs should be out of the system before it is but on the shelve for sale. It may be a great game if it ever runs properly, But for now Wizard Works Outdoors have dud for sale.
GREAT GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [Posted on 2002-03-31] This is an awesome game. The only flaw is that the animals cant be shot in the water good.
Best Game Ever Played!!! [Posted on 2006-02-03] I have had this game for a couple of years now. And I would recommend it to anyone. It is so much fun!! The graphics are really great, and the whole game is really realistic. The animals are beautifully done. And a couple of times now I have even seen a dead bighorn sheep that a wolf had caught! Thats how realistic this games is! There is also a dangerous animal button that you can turn on! Another fantastic feature to Rocky Mountain Trophy Hunter 3, is that when you hunt if you be really quiet and listen you can here the animals walking around and can tell if there getting close and sometimes you can figure out from what direction! Like one time I set out bear bait and a predater call and I could hear the black bear coming before I even saw it!
I promise that you'll love this game if you get it!(as long as your computer has all the requirements)!
WARNING: Dont buy Trophy Hunter 2003 from Atari! I just bought that game and I was sooo disappointed! The graphics are HORRIBLE and makes the game really unenjoyable. Also the game is really slow like when you move around or try to walk or anything like that! So dont get Trophy Hunter 2003! Its a waste of money! I suggest you go out and buy Rocky Mountain Trophy Hunter 3!!!!
GOOD LUCK ON THE HUNT!!!!
