Don't depend on manufacturer warranty [Posted on 2008-04-11]
This printer failed after only 45 days, 2 weeks past the point where I had to rely on manufacturer warranty rather than distributor warranty. It started with a paper jam while printing what was no more than the 200th page. After that, it would start a periodic "hammering" inside the unit when you try to print and during warm up. Not one successful print after that.

We went back and forth with obviously flawed troubleshooting, but my (seemingly?) logical concerns didn't hold weight against their "formula". I was given no choice but to wait for a week and HOPE that it would fix this in spite of their flawed "if you take that out and it doesn't make noise, that that MUST be the problem" logic. Of course, the part came in, and it made NO difference. Now I've been without a printer for almost 2 weeks. So I call up again, and am forced to go thought the troubleshooting formula not once, but *2* more times. I also was asked demonstrate the "hammering" again several times. Who knows what damage that might be causing to the other components (just full of plastic gears)! I got tired of this and told them to just send me a new printer. Apparently they "can't send a replacement". Ok, then refund my money. Oh, they "can't refund my money". Well, what can they do? They can send another part? Another week or so? The best I could do was get them to send the part to a tech who will come out to install it. And if that doesn't fix it, the *maybe* he can actually identify the right part, and wait another several days till it comes in AND he can get back. I attempted escalate and spoke to Supervisors; same story, "You have no choice but to wait for new parts and a technician"...

Anyone want to buy a slightly used printer? I've already wasted more time and lost productivity than the HP and 5 years worth of printer would have cost me. The most productive thing I can do now throw this thing in the garbage and move on without more lost time and money. The only reason I'm continuing to fool with it at all is to run up the repair bill on Samsung so that I can be sure they will not profit one nickel from my purchase.

And yes, I am backing this up with my cash. My new replacement HP Printer will arrive before the "best case" time frame for the Samsung parts. My last HP ran for over 10 years with nothing but cleaning and toner. I'm sure that many of Samsung's printers will work just fine, but if you depend on a printer working dependably for your livelihood as I do, my advice is that you don't depend on Samsung...

A compact and not expensive color printer [Posted on 2008-06-30]
It is smaller than a same multifunction B&W printer as Iused before. And its price is little more than a multifunction B&W printer. The quality is good. But the package missed a USB cable.
