Works Great! No Problems! [Posted on 2007-05-18] I was looking for a PC USB game controller so my son and I could play Lego Star Wars II on my laptop pc (Dell w/Intel Core Duo and Windows XP Pro). I wanted something inexpensive, and I wanted to use 2 of the controllers at the same time. I initially looked at a Logitech controller, but I called them and they said I could only use 1 controller at a time. I called Saitek and they said they thought I could use 2 at a time. I ordered the Saitek controllers (which rated just as high or higher (according to my research) as the Logitech for quality, use, and plug and play.
I plugged them in and they both were immediately recognized by the system and by the game, and my son and I have enjoyed playing the game on Friday nights ever since!
Thanks for a great, inexpensive, quality product that does what it says.
The transaction with Amazon was seamless and quick as well!
Saitek P220 Digital PC Game Pad [Posted on 2007-06-10] Good Controller for PC gaming, Feels like I'm palying playstation on my pc.
Saitek P220 Gamepad [Posted on 2007-11-23] This is a good gamepad for the PC. I like that it is largely a straight-forward, solid, no frills controller. I own 2, and have had zero problems. I use these for retro gaming and for modern PC games and flight simulators. My only gripe would be that the directional pad has only a small amount of resistance, which can make you "whiff moves" if you are not used to it.
There are too many gamepads today with useless features, grandiose designs, ect...and they always cost more and deliver less! I wish manufacturers for PC's would look at a Playstation 2 controller and copy that design. Oh well, like another reviewer said, you can use a Playstation 2 controller on a PC with a conversion part. Anyway, again, the Saitek P220 is a solid controller.
Pretty good [Posted on 2008-04-15] Buttons are all fine, I bought two of them, and the most important part, the directional pad, works great on one of them, but it was not so great on the other one. If you can get one with a decent D pad then it's a great controller, but if you run into one with a factory defect, then good luck doing a super cancel in a fighting game
Tride and True [Posted on 2008-07-01] I have been using my P220 gamepad for over 6 years.
Never any problems, never a sore thumb.
I very much recommend this controller for many genres of gaming.
and you cant beat the price either.
I wanted to upgrade to the Saitek controller with analog sticks/10 buttons until i noticed that the D pad on that version does not look as comfortable as the P220.
if you dont really need analog controls, stick with the P220 for its unique D pad that will last you a long time, unlike the newer model.
hope this helps
