great tv, great price [Posted on 2008-06-26] I have had this tv for about 4 months now and I must say that I absolutely love it. The matte screen completely eliminates any glare or reflections and provides a great HD picture. The thing I have actually been impressed with is the quality of the SD picture. there is very little pixelation and I actually think its better on this than on my old SDTV. Overall a great buy and great performance.
Beware of Quality Issues - Don't Ignore Rebooting TV [Posted on 2008-09-18] I bought this set almost a year ago. It's my first HD set so I was really impressed by the picture quality. I love the swivel stand which makes it handy for reconnecting cables or moving around the room. My issue is with the general quality of this Samsung set. A couple of months after delivery, it started turning off then on by itself (no timer or accidental knocks). This happened intermittently with increasing frequency until it was a few times within the same week. Though not a big inconvenience at first, I ended up calling Samsung Support. It was fortunate that I did because the trouble quickly escalated and the video started shutting off on its own. In the process, the power supply and main boards were replaced twice. Then it was the inverter box. Finally the panel died and had to be replaced. Can I assume it's a new set now?? All these issues on a brand new Samsung less than 1 yr old! I bought this TV to replace my old Sony which lasted almost 20 yrs. So now with warranty running out, I'm nervously wondering how long before the next issue creeps up.. 2 stars because I do like the picture quality and I'm HOPING this is not a common experience with Samsung.
