As a monitor this one gets 5 stars... as a TV it gets 4 stars... overall 4.5. When using it as a TV image quality decreases at closer ranges, and also sound quality could definetly be improved... the good about the TV is the PiP mode, 64x Digital Zoom, and that the built in TV-Tunner is NSTC/PAL/SECAM compatible...

Ahhhh... It only weights around 9 pounds...

don't buy refurbished [Posted on 2005-03-31]
I purchased a refurbished version of this item and while it works most of the time, the sometimes that it doesn't are very irritating. Because it is refurbished, no refund, thanks Samsung, appreciate that. I bought it based on it's high ratings, but perhaps I should have gotten a new one.

While watching the TV mode of the screen, the sound will occasionally cut out, leading me to trying to turn it up which sometimes works. Other times I just have to turn it off for a few hours.

Sometimes the screen just turns off all together, or goes into a power save mode while I am working! I remember to save my work constantly so that not all is lost.

And the remote doesn't work properly. Some keys work.

I regret having paid for this unsatisfactory box with buttons, however lightweight it may be. It doesn't come with wall mounts either, those are $40 to $100 elsewhere.

I have had this TV/computer screen for about 2 years now, and it has been great. I use it as a computer screen and can also change to cable, or video, and there's also a picture in picture function. It's like everything in one sleek, plasma screen. It's not the cheapest thing out there, but it is very good quality, so I can say I really got what I paid for.

** For people currently using this screen, you don't need external speakers for your computer, all you need to do is purchase a 6FT Audio Y-cable Black 3.5MM To 2-RCAM Value converter. Then you plug the head-phone into the back of your computer and the red,white, and yellow into your screen. After this you go to menu and change the audio source from "PC" to "input L/R." By doing this you can put down the volume from your remote, and also the built in speakers are pretty good quality.

Piece of garbage! Do not buy! Defective internal sound card and speakers [Posted on 2008-03-31]
I have owned this LCD TV/Monitor for 4 years. From the beginning, it has had issues with the internal sound card/speakers. When you turn the unit on it makes an annoying popping and static sound that will not go away. It gets progressively worse over time. I googled the problem and sure enough this is a common occurrence with this monitor as well as several others in this product line. Be very careful if you decide to purchase. Do your homework or face the possibility of owning a boat anchor!
