You get what you pay for......... [Posted on 2008-07-07] With this California law going into effect, I purchased a Bluetooth. Normally, I stick with Plantronics as they simply produce the best quality and sound. I opted to go with this Samsung. Samsung has relatively very good quality electronic devices, but this one is ......well...so-so at best.
The BT fits fine and it's snug and light. But let's get to the real question; does the thing work? Yes and no.
It works fine in a quiet environment.
It has NO noise canceling, so it WILL pick up everything.
You sound far away 4 out 5 times making a call.
Functionality, it pairs well and it's a quality made product, but it's working capability is 50-50.
I'll use this till it breaks or get's lost (in my case, it'll get lost).
If you all have a few extra bucks and want the best of the best, then I recommend you pick up a higher end Plantronics or Jawbone bluetooth. Unless you're prone to lose things or break them, then go with the cheaper BT's.
Hey - you get what you pay for.
I'll pay for a Plantronics or Jawbone next time.
Tiny yet functional [Posted on 2008-07-12] This bluetooth headset is smaller than the majority of headsets available, yet it is still crystal clear to both the speaker and the listener. I like that it is less conspicuous than other models.
Great besides the earhook [Posted on 2008-07-16] I bought this to use with my Samsung SCH-i760. Following the instructions and pairing it was a cinch. I had it connected within 3-5 minutes and it worked fine while the phone was visible. Call quality with the phone about a foot away uncovered was perfect. Havent heard any wind noise complaints YET. When the phone was in its case, it doesnt work that well which is understandable.
Biggest complaint is the earhook which I've seen mentioned. It is very flimsy and you need to remove it to charge the headset. The case that the unit is stored in/charges in is nice though but stinks that you need to remove the earhook. I havent had any problems with volume yet.
The unit is very tiny so I hope I dont lose it. But it is very light and does stay in ear even without the earhook.
Overall, I am happy about the purchase besides the earhook and also removing it to charge it.
Does Its Job [Posted on 2008-07-16] Well this thing does what it's suppose to do. Just make sure when you're first syncing this to your cell phone, hold the main button for a REALLY long time. NOT till it flashes (keep on holding it). It will eventually go from flashing to a SOLID blue light, and that's when you sync. It'll probably take like 30-60 secs of holding.
Sound quality is good. A little uncomfortable in the ear at times or if you wear it for a long time. It is quite sensitive to outside noises. If you have your car window down and stereo up, the other person cannot hear you very well.
Overall very good product, and most importantly it does what it's suppose to do. Give you Hands Free while driving and no tickets if you're in CA :)
Samsung Black Bluetooth [Posted on 2008-07-17] The price is good for the quality of product. The charging case is nice, and the headset is stylish. It came with several ear buds and one ear loop. Samsung made something good and cheap, but don't expect it cover over 20 ft separation between headset and phone.
I have had at least two signal failures during a conversation, but the call does not end it simply transfers to the phone. It's just like a phone, it will work most of time with an aberrant malfunction.
