Washed & Dried [Posted on 2008-05-31] I lost this flash drive shortly after upgrading to an 8GB of the same brand. My wife found it in the dryer. The plastic body cover and cap were in the washer. To my amazement it still works fine. I see that mine was not the first to go through this test though. Anyway, it impressed me enough to write my first review of a product.
Cruzer Micros [Posted on 2008-06-09] These are great little drives, especially for the price. The changeable covers are good if you need to use more than one.
Works Great! [Posted on 2008-06-20] I have had this product for over a year and haven't had a problem with it. Works great for what I use it for.
Small but Reliable [Posted on 2008-08-11] I've had one of these for about 2 years. The stats:
Compatiblity:
Its widely compatible, from experience: Windows 98/XP/Vista, lots of Mac OS's at school and with friends.
Durability:
So far I've put it through the wash several times without its plastic case and it still works fine. To stop myself from doing that I now carry it on my key chain, which is a very handy feature. Even being banged around with all my keys and other stuff in my pockets, no trouble except the logo has worn off. I now use it as my backup drive.
Speed:
I tested the speed with 2 175 MB transfers (one multi-file, one single file) the Cruzer took about 3 minutes, 15 seconds to move 314 picture files and about 38 seconds to move 1 video file. This was faster than my Sony MicroVault 4G by about 1 minute for the first trial and 10 seconds for the second trial.
Cons:
-Only 1 Gig, thus I only use it to back up text/spreadsheet files and move smaller multimedia compilations.
-Just once I had a problem where a computer I plugged it into whipped it totally. Fortunately I had just bought it and was able to return it. Since then I've determined it was the computer's problem (though no one can tell me why) since it works fine with all other XPs and all other computers.
-Don't become attached to the plastic cases, they start to fall of very easily after a while.
In total, a great flash drive if you want something small and reliable (not to mention cheap).
Most efficient Thumb/Jump Drive. [Posted on 2008-09-30] We all want something that's affordable but sturdy. And wait, throw in a few more qualities like nice aesthetics and small size... well the result you'd get is this thumb/jump drive.
It works wonderful and looks too good to be true!
