I take a lot of pictures and 8 GB is really nice to have [Posted on 2008-04-07] I seldom shoot in the auto mode and render almost all photos in RAW format. This card handles my demanding shooting requirements. I have purchased CF cards from other makers but NONE even come close to SAN disk in performance.
Great storage but... [Posted on 2008-04-07] ... I have lost data a couple of times, but i was able to eventually recover the data using the software provided by SanDisk. It was usually from having the memory card out and probably because i was walking around with it in my hand not in a storage container. But half of the photos would disappear according to my computer, but would be perfectly visible on my D300 camera. It was just unusual. But I still use this card, I am just very careful with it!
Great Price, Great Performance [Posted on 2008-04-13] Excellent price/performance ratio. I use this in a Nikon D300 and its write speeds are excellent. You might need a little more performance if you are doing serious action photography but for what I need it is plenty fast for 6-7 rapid fire shots in RAW.
Pure speed [Posted on 2008-04-20] Bought this card with my Nikon d300 and I've had no problems at all shooting action at 3-5 fps in RAW. Very pleased with this purchase.
Watch Out for Fakes: Buy Through Reptable Stores [Posted on 2008-05-07] The rating has nothing to do with the product quality. I bought this card from an individual versus one of the main stores. Make sure you can find the serial number on the CF card when you open it. If you cannot find one, guess what? You got a fake. Some cheap card with the Extreme sticker on it. Other things to look for: Was there a hologram on the box? Was the plastic casing sealed shut or were you able to pull it open with no effort? But definitely look for the serial number!
